Request - Factory Complex Constructor

Post by xxdh2kxx »

Glad to see scripts and mods come out literally three days after the release. I've been refreshing the scripts and modding site every couple of hours in anticipation of great scripts. Anyway I wanted to bring to attention my most favorite mod/script that kept me in play with X3 hours on in. It's called Factory Complex Constructor and its by Dusty.

http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=172015

This mod really allowed my creative juices to flow. I just hated how my complexes looked with all the messy nods etc. But this mod changed it for good and I was able to create my own masterpiece of a mega complex. I wanted to know if anyone here has heard from Dusty or the other creators of this script. I am actually hesitant to start building any complexes or factories because of the lack of control vanilla offers.

So Dusty..If you're still around, it'd be great to catch you're mod XTC style. The game just isn't the same without you're awesome mod!

It's a real shame that egosoft didn't improve complexes and we still gonna be stuck with spaghetti.

Perhaps the whole complexes business isn't a big deal to most x players but I know there are perfectionists out there who kept trying to make their complexes look neat. I just took the whole complex building part much farther and in x3 I would spend hours just on the complex spending hundreds of millions on fabs that I could barely support. Hehe try importing from other Mining complexes 88,000 ore.

At this point even though I want to start building complexes but I'll just have to wait until someone brings back Dusty's great mod for XTC. It would have been nice if his script was implemented into XTC since it would have put design freaks like myself on ease.

Dusty is more likely to visit the German X3TC S&M Forum than here. Perhaps a check there if he is still among us, and then a PM to bring the matter to his attention?

FCC mod actually works if you change the engineversion to 40 in the xml files for the mod. Don't forget to change it the second time in the "sval type="int" val="32" line (only the first one).

It worked for me so far, apart from minor graphix glitches with the station

Hehe do you mind sending me a copy or text of what ever you did. I tend to screw up these things and crash my games.

mind you they've changed something in the rendering engine, now sectors with complexes in them give you stable 2fps no more no less... And this is a shame on my new GF280 card... :(

Hi all,

I'm currently working on a conversion of the Factory Complex Constructor to X3 TC - well, at least I'm trying to do it. I'm having enormous technical problems with X3 TC (Bluescreens, failing DVD-readers, extreme stuttering... and other funny stuff). So it's pure luck if I can get it working.

Anyway, I'll make the necessary changes on the FCC as soon as I have some time for it. But there are many things to do, besides of the conversion (which has to be checked for errors). There is even a new version of the FCC (4.00). I made this one some months ago, but never released it - I found it recently somewhere on my harddrive, and released the german version. It comes with a completely renewed manual, so there is a lot of text to translate from german to english.

But, as I already mentioned in the thread of my script A.R.E.S., I don't have much time for scripting in the near future. So it will take some time until a stable version of the FCC for Terran Conflict will be released.

Well thats shame. I mean in X3 Reunion my sectors became extremely laggy and to make simple commands I'd just turn my point of view away from the complex which by that time had filled my whole screen. I haven't started yet but lag has never kept me from building no matter how unbearable it is.

Has anyone got any pics of a massive factory complex done with his script just curious to see what to expect.
