Exodus Fleet Mod

Hi all,

Im in the process of modding some ships.

The Idea is to get a mission of a BB to locate and find a lost Exodus Fleet.

The Exodus Fleet will consist of two ships:

The GENESIS
and the CLAYMORE.

The Claymore is a battleship with 12 guns per Turret.


The GENESIS is the Flagship of that ancient Fleet and is one of the (or the ) biggest ships in X3.

The ship models were modded with X2 Parts.

The GENESIS as the colonization Ship of that ancient Fleet has some special effects.

For one is has some special eqipment left on Board.
One the the Energy Generator.

If active it uses 4/5 of the shield strength to generate E-Cells... the shields are down to 1/5 while it generates E-Cells, the generation rate depends on shield strength... get a 10 GJ Shield and it will do 60 in a minute. Cap is 2000 E-Cells.

The other is a fabrication module.

This module is able to create Exodus Fleet small craft and special systems
which cant be bought.

Production rate depends on hull strength of produced vessel.
To produce a ship you will need

Raw Resources
Credits
and
Energy Cells.

Added together the ships will cost about one fifth more than the comparable Argon ships.

Both the Genesis and the Claymore will be heavily damaged and will be barebone, i.e. one 25 MW shield.

Repairing and outfitting the ships will be a costly project, but the production capability of the GENESIS will make it interesting.

EXODUS FLEET small craft consist of

M4 Stiletto a deadly interceptor
M3 Peregrine all in all just a bit more than a tad better than other M3
TP Trader, a Fleet support Vessel with 1000 XL Cargospace able to dock to the GENESIS or other TL M1 ships.

Due to the age of the ships certain weapon systems will unavailable
the best the stiletto will be able to mount is the Beta Particle Cannon
Some LostTech Systems will make these ships able to hold their own against the others in the X3 Universe.

The Genesis will have a special EXODUS FLEET AI Bord Computer which will allow it to:

Send a Fleet Tender to repair, refurbish and collect disabled vessels.
Send Trader ships to buy Resources and material if they are particuliary cheap in the sector,
Send Trader ships to sell on board resources if they are at high demand in the sector.
Run and manage sector defensive systems: i.e. Produce (over time, and at the cost of credits and materiel) guntowers and satelites and place them,
produce and outfit (again at cost of credits and materiel) E.F.S. vessels to mount CAPs and Sector defenses,

Repair ships.


Im playtesting and balancing at the moment.

Comments and idea welcome.

Also need help in setting up a mission that allows the player to find the ship.

Would also appreciate if someone could tell me how to script a command that makes a ship neutral/no pilot/claimable like the other 'lost' ships in the game. Havent found it yet.

very nice idea, i alwais liked homeworld, the mothership reminds me the hiigara pride (or the kun laan, if you prefer hw: cataclism :D)

an m5 equivalent would be funny too

but if you put it on the bbs please make it so that you can take the mission regardless of rank and race rep
and also make it so it will be a bit frequent on the bbs so i mean like the khaak ship info but not like the xenon invasion mission

Just to verify; why would you want it to not require race/rank?

If this is the case though maybe make it cost ALOT of credits to get the map/info.

I would be more inclined to go the other way with this. Having it be available at an even more rare chance than the invasion missions (it is afterall a lost artifact), and have it only show up if your rank is at least high enough to buy at least one races battleship (although i hear it is 1 rank to high at present).

i would just make it realy expensive and make it depending on what kind of ship you one
like a tl orso
but if you make it more rare than a xenon invasion mission it would never turn up in game
afther 2 weeks of play i have yet to find a xenon invasion mission

To make a ship neutral and therefore claimable ingame is easy. Just click on the part of the command where you choose the owner for the ship, scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see a option that says "select race" or some such thing, click on that and then scroll down until you see an option that says "neutral race", just select that and the created ship will the be spawned as automacticaly claimable.

When you do up the bbs mission maybe you could set up 10-15 clues spead out in different mission throughout the galexy. so we really have to work for it instead of it popping up randomly at the bbs station.

HHm.. i already tried setting a spawned ship to neutral... didn't make it claimable.

IIRC 'Neutral' ships spawn with Unknown Objects as pilots rather than No Pilot.
No, actually using ship owner - null etc spawns ships with unknown objects as the pilots...

Using "Neutral Race" as the ship owner makes them have "no pilot", making them claimable. I have probably messed around with creating ships more than most, figuring out what does what etc, so trust me on this...

@ Andras: are you trying to spawn a cap ship, if so then you most likely will not be able to get within 30m of the created ship anyway, therefore, although it is claimable, you will not be able to claim it.

I'll try again, perhaps it works differently for in game ships.. i'll test that.

Re claiming: The ship is constructed in a way that leaves the zero,zero point directly in front of the bridge, you will be able to get to 10 meters.

Its a scary feeling to navigate as astronaut near that giant ship... it totally fills up the environs...

creating a ware 'Exodus Fleet Command Key Code' and linking it to the BBS will prolly work as well.... but I'd like to let the player do a space walk.

Well there is still so much we dont know yet that it is more than possible that imported ships work differently to ingame ships, will have to test it... When i can find the time, though will have to learn that side of things first, you got any help in that respect. Ie, how to import new models etc.

after i complete the plot, the earth fleet appear.. but it seem different compare to "GENESIS" ???? :? :?

Hi again,

I go the idea because of the lost (unclaimed) ships in X3.

And I like the idea of a flying dutchman, or rather an old, ancient and nearly derelict fleet drifting through space.

Also i like the Homeworld Concept with a Mothership that is able to produce ships and materiel.

It will be a mod, no cheat, because as with your factories you will need ressources for production tasks.

Th Exodus Fleet Craft will be 'different' than the x3 ships, its rather a change in concept than just putting on more guns.

As to the guns... the ships are old, so they will not be able to mount 'newer' guns...

yes make one but have it as an option thay can be bought for a couple millon extra or such

Update:

Doing some serious playtesting right now...

Done so far:
Ware: Exodus Fleet ID

As CAP ships seem not to be claimable, this ware (which one would get via a BBS mission) allows player to claim the GENESIS Hull if playership gets within 100 meter of the EFS Flagship GENESIS.

Sentinel AI Commands:(secondary Commands)

Command Repair EFS Craft.

Repairs Genesis and landed Craft at a Cost of 10 Ore and 2 ECell per 100 pts of Hull damage. Repairtick every 20 seconds, so its slow. You'll need an awful amaount of Ore to bring up the Genesis Hull.

Command Generate E-Cells.
Generates E-Cells at a speed depending on shield strength, while production runs, shield energy is reduced to 1/5 of normal shield strength.

Produce EFS Vessels

The Genesis Shipyard is able to produce EFS Vessels.
Although SENTINEL noted down the available blueprints of other races, the shipyard is geared for EFS Vessel only.

To produce a Vessel, Genesis will need Ore, Qantum Tubes, Computer Components, Silicium Wafers, Energy-Cells and an amount of Cash depending on the selected Vessels Price.

On average wareprice, the EFS Vessel will cost about on fourth more than comparable Argon Vessels, however, if you get the wares cheap this will reduce the cost considerably.

Cheapest vessel is the EFS Stiletto at about 700000 Creds, the BroadSword (Military Transport) will be at 13 Million.

All EFS Vessel so produced will be fitted out with an EFS Improved Jump Drive and an EFS AI Extension.


S.E.N.T.I.N.E.L

This activates the AI.
AI functions include the above mentioned functions. As the EFS Flagship GENESIS was tasked to colonize new worlds and protect them, the AI will over time

Rebuild an EFS Fleet consisting of
10 Stiletto
5 Peregrine
2 Broadsword
5 Trader

Stock them up with shields, equipment and weapons (no cheat, vessel will fly to Space Docks to buy the equipment)

Fit out and send a Stiletto tasked with finding 3 yield 50 Silicium Mines and 3 yield 50 Ore Mines,

Will do an analysis of best position for two Solar Plants and one Crytsal plant (all in one Sector)

Buy the stations at the Argon shipyard
Place them (default is Trantor)

And proceed to supply and protect the plants and the Sector.

It also will react to attacks on player stations and send in protection. If Fleet Action is required, Genesis will jump in and deploy fighter screen.

Best of all, the creds needed for this will be earned by the Sentinel Trading System itself.

No cheat. All credits and materiels needed are honorably earned or harvested.


Vessels fitted with the improved jump drive will be able to do inner system jumps (only if also fitted out with the normal jump drive as well) at small cost, or do a precision jump into a system where player has an improved communication satelite installed OR an EFS Vessel is currently present, i.e. current navigation data are available.

The EFS AI Extension will allow an EFS Vessel to use the EFS Genesis as a Trade station, i.e. the Vessel will have the following COmmands in the Trade Section:

GENESIS ShipWare AutoBuy

This command will send the trading ship to buy and sell wares from the Genesis Cargo Hold. It will look for best prices. Default is 9 jumps from the Sector where the Genesis is currently stationed.

GENESIS ShipWare Stock up
This command will send the trading ship looking for best buy wares until the desired amount is stored up in the Genesis Cargo Hold.

Fighting Section:
Call for EFS support.

This command enables the ship fitted with the AI Extension to contact the Genesis and call for Fighter protection

IF

At least one EFS Stiletto is currently docked in the Genesis Landing Bay, and this vessel is fitted out with a jumpdrive, improved jumpdrive and an AI extension.
That Vessel will be readied, stocked up with E-Cells and will then proceed to jump to the callers position. It will protect the calling vessel as long as it is in the system the Emergency Response Fighter is called to. If protected ship leaves the sector, the protector will jump home and dock at the Genesis.

It will be automatically repaired and restocked with E-Cells.

The GENESIS

The Genesis is an awesome ship, but when the player finds her, she will be a wrecked husk. Hull strength is at 4000 of 280000, and she will be protected only by three 5MW shields.
The Flaship has 6 turrrets and front guns as well, each will be stocked with ONE Alphaemitter.
Landing Bay Size is 60 Vessels.
Cargo space is 60 000 (ST). If you spend an enormeous amount of credits, you will be able to boost it to a maximum of 298000.
Cheaper to buy a fleet of TL.
The Genesis is a vessel of the TL class, you'll be able to deploy Stations with her.

But when you find her, she's old, worn down and VERY fragile
Be careful not to ram her with your Buster, or she will go boom.
