One of the rules is against PBG usage. Something about Space Fuel being used for drinking, not burning.

I, for one, would be displeased if Orange Wing were to be armed, by executive order, with PBG's. We are not known... ehm... for our trigger discipline.

The skunk really is a bare bones model. It doesn't even have a GPS to highlight the way. Or targeting software MK 2 to allow target selection and painting from the sector map. It lacks a Trading System Extention to show prices in the sector you are in. The lack of satellites in rebirth is also annoying to the trader/pirate looking for a mark.

Here were his starting rules...
_____________________________________________________________________________
Right I think this is what we're looking at currently.. and who to squarely lay the (blame) on.
Start: Terran Defender/Goner Witness not quite decided yet, both have attractions, but leaning toward Terran for reasons I'll keep to myself for now. (Delray/insolent1)
Start ship: Space suit and a pocketful of change. Eep! (Delray)
Combat: Untrained in the arts of war I've no idea how to fly a combat ship at present more than to get it from A -> B, so I'll be needing to hire mercenary fighterjocks to fight on my behalf. Let's see how rubbish this autopilot really is! (Megamolanius/mattjenko)
Ships: Predominantly going to use Teladi ships as Maphys seems to think they're rubbish. Besides quite frankly the Teladi will sell to anyone! If I can acquire others thru 'alternative' means, cap/second-hand/board/steal then good for me. (Maphys)
Missions: If I can do it, it can be done. Obviously not being able to do them myself the fight type will be troublesome until I can get enough of a fighter wing together to get out there and do it for me.
Plotlines: To be started at a given fightrank only. Which one tho? Same as missions otherwise tho. I wonder how an AI fleet will cope with FF..? (vbruzual)
Fightrank: Obviously to do the plots at a given OMG level I'll need to up this at somepoint when I can get 'taught' to fly a combat ship properly. Will need a target to aim for to get 'trained' tho. Free cash value/rank/accomplishment? (vbruzual)
Repairs: No repair-laser. Not a fighterjock, not a greasemonkey either. Better not ding anything. (Threesixtyci)
Weapons: Ammo-based where feasible. (Maphys)
Jumpdrives: Limited to specially designed ships due to power considerations. TM and above. (Maphys)
Boarding: No personal dropping of troops so if they can't sort it out among themselves then it ain't going to happen. Should make boarding a little trickier exercise. *Sends AI boarding fleet after target, hilarity ensues..*
Goals: Going to need at least one to achieve 'fighter-trained'. More suggestions welcomed. (BeidAmmikon)
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Nothing about no PBGs, just ammo based weapons where feasible was the only weapon 'rule' I see.. course I could be missing something, I usually am!

Page 53, to be exact. Part of the rules of joining:Lancefighter wrote:nah he said it around page 30 when people started putting in apps. 'spacefuel is for drinking not for lighting people on fire' or similar.
Just to make life easier lets keep it simple:
1. Preferred ship. You'd probably want to be keeping them at least attainable. I'm only buying Teladi ships and secondhands so anything else will have to be begged/borrowed/found/stolen.
2. Shipname
3. Preferred weapon loadout, Main/Turrets. Being all professional piratical types naturally you will all eschew the use of PBG, space-fuel is for drinking not setting fire to. Razz
4. Preferred missile loadout and launch percentage. Pick wisely or blow yourselves up.
5. Preferred role. Interceptor,escort,bomber,etc.
6. Marines is an option for those that like the big risks.
7. If marine, pick a race.

112 - Haven
Been doing some more scouting work recently and I've finally settled on a new home sector for the fleet that meets all my current needs. It's a nice compact sector, hidden amongst a mineral rich asteroid field, cloaked in a thick sensor obscuring nebula and way off the beaten track. About the only things going against it are it's innacessibility, which is going to increase my fuel costs some and the small matter of some grouchy neighbours, but I'm sure I can resolve that one should it prove necessary. As an added and unexpected bonus it
even has some native fauna..
http://dbbr17626.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/steve/112-1.jpg
.. they're right little buggers to try and catch tho, I'll have to pick up an Ion-Disruptor from someplace and see how that fares.
I've got the PBG forge setup here and that's busy working away now so it should have some goods for sale soon. Given that will need a steady supply of resources of it's own to manufacture its goods, and being all out here I'll be needing to ensure a steady fuel supply for the fleet, I think I can kill two Boron with one depthcharge if I setup at least a small energy core here. Doesn't have to be a large one, even a small one should have sufficient output to keep things ticking over nicely.
With everything safely tucked away out of sight I'm free to head back to Action Jackson and fill him in on my 'discovery' over near PTNI. I suspect he'll probably blame the Teladi for it being as those pirates are operating near Teladi space, I'm out the frame tho so it's all good. Jackson seems pleased with the info and assigns me three more Rapiers. The free ships make me happy, I'm less happy with the two Terran pilots I get lumped with as part of the deal. Jackson wants them to tag along while we do a recce into Argon space. I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to be babysitting them as they seem a bit green to me, or whether they're coming along to keep tabs on what I'm up to.. Either way, I'm not happy.
My mood isn't improved any halfway thru the patrol when we encounter a large wing of Xenon who seem intent on causing trouble..
http://dbbr17626.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/steve/112-2.gif
.. but they're all light fighters so if they're looking for trouble they'll certainly get it if they come anywhere near me, but my mood really hits rock-bottom when it turns out they're just the advance recon force..
http://dbbr17626.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/steve/112-3.gif
.. Yipe!, I think I might need backup..
Calling in a bomber and the Raptor to help out before the situation deteriorates too much and I get myself in trouble it seems my Terran *escort/overseers/stalkers/babysittees have decided that their mission ROE doesn't actually entail making themselves useful in any fashion as while Orange wing are out forming a protective shell around my Shrike they've elected..
http://dbbr17626.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/steve/112-4.gif
.. to cower in my launch bay. Who the hell gave them docking permission anyway?!?
The Xenon have fielded a sizeable force, tho whether they're after me or my charges (I've decided I must be babysitting after all) is anybodies guess. With the arrival of the boyz tho and some heavy firepower that quickly turns around a situation that might have got tricky. Omicron Lyrae is the same, more Xenon, and this time they've sent even more units, two K's this time. Omicron Lyrae has it's own defence forces tho and they help out taking on and killing one of the K's and it's escort leaving us clear to concentrate on the other one. With the threat eliminated we're thru into Treasure chest and then things get really interesting..
http://dbbr17626.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/steve/112-5.gif
.. For one, Bill and Ben the monkey men decide that it might be safe to venture out of my launch bay and help out some after all, which was jolly decent of them I thought. For two I've no idea what these things are, but they look Xenonish and anything that looks Xenonish probably shares the Xenon approach to first contact situations, so I think we'll preempt them and light them up first. Luckily they're only smaller units so no threat anyway.
Bill and Ben seem to think Action Jackson will be interested in this tho so hoovering up a few of the larger pieces it looks like we'll be heading back to Terran space again..
