Post by rudi_pioneer »

With new flight model and engine rebalance, which faction has ships with best strafing?

The best strafer is likely modded Xperimental. I also recommend to try split ships.

There's interesting moment with split ships that drifting turns into strafing. I even wonder if it is intentional. Basically, if you point something like Cobra at a capital mid-flyby, you'll effectively start orbiting it, with your reticle pointing at the ship. Which allows you to keep shooting the capital. That's without disabling flight assist.

Oh yea let me try that, that’s basically what I’m looking for: orbiting capitals, and with more precision, hide in spots while removing surface components

You may be interested in the video just recently posted by another forum member. It demonstrates a pilot continuously orbiting an I in a Balur while taking down the surface elements:

The Asp Raider is one of my favorites. It's fast, has amazing strafe, highly nimble and a very small cross section so it's hard to hit with most projectiles. The down side is one hit from a graviton turret or a direct hit from a Xenon B and it's cooked.

Another ship that's worth mentioning is the Yasur.
