About Station Manager and picking up upgrades in space

So the story is, I assigned a transporter to my HQ, dumped some credits in its account and enabled station manager hoping that the ship will start stocking up the wares on its own. Now I made some research before posting this and now I know it's not really a great idea right now and should probably wait till 1.2, but there is one more issue I have not seen mentioned before:
As soon as I turned on the manager my ship jumps to Xenon Sector 598 and goes straight for a crate of rudder optimization floating there. Somehow manages to collect it (all Xenon were far away from the gate) then jumps for a second such crate this time in a friendly sector.

Jumping into Xenon sector is not exactly ideal on its own, but on top of that I would really prefer if those crates were left alone, waiting till I'm flying a capital ship that could benefit from such upgrades the most.
I have "Allow upgrading ships" and "Stock up for Loadouts" set to "no", but it changes nothing,

After some testing I think that buying up all the engine/rudder upgrades on ship assigned to a managed station prevents this from happening (I skimped on the rudder), but still - it's a pretty silly way to lose something so rare and irreplaceable as those few upgrade crates floating in space. Or to send your ships into deathtraps.

You can stop the ships from collect wares by either not installing special command software on the ships or setting the ship role to Trade instead of auto

Auto will assign the role based on the equipment the ship has

However 1.2 should fix those issues

As stated above you can assign traders specific roles. Instead of "auto" make it a "trader", so it wont collect floating crates. Its simple as that. This command can be accessed through station command console > ware restrictions (or something like that, I cant remember exactly).
X fanatic. More of an X3 fanatic.
What about X4? Nah, I prefer a space simulator rather than a walking simulator.

Thanks, yeah, I know that now, but even then my trader decided to try selling the energy cells I had in my HQ instead of buying something like microchips. So I'll just stick to manually switching "buy ware for best price" every now and then till the 1.2 is out.
