'Attacked Response' global setting not working?

Post by Hwitvlf »

On v1.1, changing the Global Setting for "Attacked Response" doesn't seem to work; that's after pushing broadcast to all owned ships. Am I missing something?

Also, my armored TS ignores emergency jump settings. Does emergency jump only work for combat ships, and trade ships need to use 'response = evade'?

I had a TS with response=flee run toward my nearest station and dock, then wait a bit while the Xenon M6+ that followed it just chilled outside. Then my TS undocked and got blasted. So.... maybe if the TS has more shields it'll work?

So currently it seems like the broadcast to all owned ships command doesn't really work. You can go to each ship and hit default settings and it'll change it too global, which saves a bit but it is still very annoying yes.

The TS should also jump, so long as it has energy cells, I've had mine jump before.

I see, thank you both for the info. It's still a huge improvement over AP where you couldn't even change the defaults for most settings.

I did a bit of testing and think I found the problem with my freighters jumping; it appears that 'Evade' setting just means "use emergency jump settings". In other words, it does nothing if emergency jump is turned off. I had assumed ''Evade' was self contained. That seems to make it redundant to simply setting Emergency Jump, but I'm probably just missing something obvious. :gruebel:

The global settings should work in 1.2
But will only apply to new ships.

you can still apply the default settings via the ships command console.

also note, the broadcast to reachable properties only apply to the global F/F settings, not the default settings.

For the Attacked Response settings, Flee, will attempt to find a friendly station nearby to dock at and Evade will carry on its normal journey but make defensive movements to avoid gunfire (this is only really works while IS)
Emergency jump is separate from them, and will work regardless of the attacked response.

also both Flee and Evade will attempt to use the Turbo Booster to get away if they have it installed and enough energy cells (they wont use laser/shield energy for it)
