[BUG?] r439801 Inability to gain influence

In this particular (new start) save it may be plot-locked, but in the previous start I encountered (& mentioned) this problem /after/ unlocking Phase 2 (HUB); both times my Boron rep was sky-high (therefore allowing landing by any ship/agent). FWIW In the previous gamestart (1.0 upgraded to 1.1) I could send an agent to a /different/ Boron facility to gain points, no problem: only the Void station seemed to be affected

You need a trading station or stock exchange to get Boron influence. Research stations don't count.

Then how do you complete Plot Phase 1 starting as Boron (or any start that locks you into Void/HV sectors)? Also, why would it come back online after several hrs playtime (doing assorted missions etc)?

Its been awhile since I've only done that plot once, but isn't it the paranid you need to send it too for the mission? Also what do you mean come back online? Both in your save and my own saves I can't send to any of the Royal Boron Research Stations.

Not sure why you would need boron influence in the early plot? You only need paranid influence to get out and the paranid have a trading station.

I'm sure that in a previous start when I had this happen I was able to gather influence from that Void station after some time of unavailability.. but I /could/ be misremembering I guess..

V useful for quick & cheap research/tech grabbing for the PHQ, to allow for some early trader etc builds without having to send them all over the place to equip Paranid tech is /much/ more expensive (in influence, time & cash)

In the early Betas the research station was a trade dock, so it would have worked then, maybe that's what your remembering.

The military dock was used instead due to its larger amounts of docking

Yer; I remember that change.. however I (was) /sure/ I'd had the above ability after that update!

Maybe it was simply a hangover from a pre-public beta start.. tho again I thought I'd started afresh with the public 1.0

Oh well, it'll have to remain a mystery for now
