Pause key is not pausing the game - Resolved

I've read on reddit that the Pause key will allow you to pause the game and continue to give orders and other things, unlike the Escape key which, while it pauses the game, also doesn't allow you to do anything else. Well, I've tried the Pause key on the keyboard and it appears to do nothing at all. Everything continues moving as before. I've even tried adding F6 as an additional assignment for the Pause function in key bindings, but it also doesn't seem to pause the game.

Anyone have any idea as to what's going on? Or am I misunderstanding what the pause function is supposed to be doing? TIA

The key on my keyboard labelled "Pause" does pause the game and let me do stuff like use the right mouse button menu on HUD objects. I didn't try remapping the function so I don't know what is in the in-game menus at the moment.


Were you trying a key labelled Pause on your keyboard?

Are you on a laptop/notebook or keyboard intended for such? Sometimes the Pause key (which is rarely used nowadays, sadly) gets set to do something else by default (adjust screen brightness, change audio volume, whatever) on smaller keyboards and you must hold down a key labled "fn" while you press the pause key to get the original function.

Nope, not on a laptop; regular desktop with full size keyboard. I even tried adding F6 as an additional key binding to the Pause action, but still no indication that the game is paused and things still continue to move in the universe.

I'm stumped.

If you set all input controls to the default profile rather than custom, do you still have that issue?
