Troubles with extensions
Hi,
Does anyone know how to get extensions to work?
I have added an extensions folder to the root folder of the game, as soon as I add an extension, the game no longer starts, when I take the extension out, the game starts again.
I also tried adding to the my documents\egosoft\x4 folder, when I try that, I get no extensions loaded.
Solution: Anyone else who has this problem, add the extensions into your player profile, for me, this was in 'C:\Users\Owner\Documents\Egosoft\X4\10389378\extensions' (I am pretty sure the number after X4 is random)

Re: Troubles with extensions
Try adding "-logfile debuglog.txt" to the x4 command line options. The log file may indicate any errors with the extension, as long as x4 loaded far enough before closing.

Re: Troubles with extensions
So i know everyone says it needs to be in Steam\steamapps\common\X4 Foundations\extensions
But when placed there the extensions are not found but when placed in C:\Users\"username"\Documents\Egosoft\X4\"random number" folder they are found for me as well just like the OP
There must be something going on that makes it be so different for people

Re: Troubles with extensions
Seems the issue may be a system/OS issue in regards to where the extensions folder is placed and having the mods work. At least that's my guess. If people would state their OS when reporting this, it could help (all of) us figure it out and maybe a way for the devs to fix it.tigar wrote: ↑Sun, 2. Heh, meant more along the lines of Win 7/8/10 Home/Pro/Enterprise, for example. They tend to handle certain things differently when it comes to file management. Even when it otherwise shouldn't.

Re: Troubles with extensions
Have a look at Tigar's post above, that did it for me: Documents/Egosoft/X4/1234567/extensions/your_extension_goes_here.

Re: Troubles with extensions
Hi MegaJohnny
Thanks will try that.
If extensions work there why are we told to place it in the game directory, anyway thanks.
