1.10 LAG FPS drop docking/walking on stations & EVA
Version and language: 1.10 English
Unmodified
Any/All Game starts
I have encountered severe FPS drops when either docking at stations, walking round stations or going EVA in a spacesuit.
This has occurred regardless of game start or changing graphic settings. I have tried turning of Anti Aliasing, switching between Vsync settings and turning down quality - No Change.
I have checked and updated all drivers.
I was able to "escape" from the lag when docking by putting the ship in reverse and waiting as it stuttered me away from the station. The lag ended when I reached 11.kms from the station.
System Specs:
Windows 10 64
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980,
AMD FX-8350 8-Core Processor
16GB RAM
Direct X 12
DXdiag: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hdfo8hha3eu0j ... g.txt?dl=0
Vulkan: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cpouq0rq5agy5 ... o.txt?dl=0
Edit: Lag Still present in 1.10

I have encountered a similar issue (Win10Pro-64-bit, i7-6950X, 64GB RAM, nVidia GTX 1080 Ti) - this seems to be a recurring flaw with the releases of the X-games.
Comparable performance issues have happened with X3, X-Rebirth, and X4.

Re: [LAG 1.10 ENG] - FPS drop docking/walking on stations & EVA
Lag when docking/walking around seems to ONLY apply to Stations for me. As I can dock and walk around capital ships fine.

Re: 1.10 LAG FPS drop docking/walking on stations & EVA
I found out when i disable sound in game, lags and fps drop down will soon disappear. And if i disable sound before i left pilot chair there will be no lags at all.

I've managed to update my RealTek drivers to the latest 2018 drivers. (took some hunting around the internet)
Sadly no change, the Lag still occurred - not sure if it was wishful thinking on my part but it did seem that the lag took slightly longer to occur than before.
My NVidia Drivers are also completely up to date.

Have you tried actually disabling the NVIDIA sound device in Device Manager?

Re: 1.10 LAG FPS drop docking/walking on stations & EVA
I disabled the Nvidia drivers. It sort of helped... in that the time before it lagged and between lag spikes increased. I'm wondering if its triggering when the Station Tannoy/Intercom is announcing or when a certain civilian ship engine sound is passing by. Though that doesn't explain the lag during EVA

Can you see if this suggestion from another similar thread helps you?

I was now just coming back from testing out that users suggestion.

It Works!
Haven't pinned down all the Bit/Sample settings that are accepted. But I went into my RealtekHD Sound 'Properties' >> 'Advanced' and reduced my Sample Rate and Bit depth to 16 Bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality) Which seems to have solved the Issue.
Docking/Walking Around = No Lag
Interior Stations Sections = No Lag
EVA Spacesuit = No Lag
