i would like to ask if it´s possible to ask some questions here before the stream today. last time the twitch chat (or how it´s name is) doesn´t work for me and so i couldn´t ask anything
Stoked for this, will be great to hear a bit more about how development is progressing
I hope to see some more detailed footage of the map system from an end-game point of view. How it will behave with large fleet movement, managing stations (buying/selling our goods, transferring profits etc).
Stream highlights:
- no jumpdrive (shift in favor of teleportation device)
- we can teleport to station, even NPC stations
- teleportation will be limited by range which can be extended via research
- there are Equipment Docks (spotted in the video) that have mediom and Large docking scaffolds
- the will be Trans Orbital Accellerators in some system which will work diffrently than highways (unfortunately no word about Terrans)
- core systems will use highways, but fringe system might have none.
- minning wil be done by ships like in X-Rebirth
- the map offer free look (e.g. you can center and zoom camera around Xenon fighters if you see in on the map)
- I spotted something that looks/work like a sattelite on the video (little green static dots that reveal "fog of war")
- station will have to have large pier build in order to service large freighters, otherwise trade is lmitted to S and M size freighters via landing pad.
- there are ware type specific storage modules (e.g. Liquid storage module)
- NPCs will "design" build their own stations using modules
- there is station called Xenon power plant (indication of Xenon economy?), there is also another unnamed Xenon station that looks like factory.
- stations seem, at least partially, race specific visual look.
- Player Hedquarter will be unique station avaliable for player by the plot
- not all station module are avaliable from the start
- modules can be "moved" (Deconstructed and reconstructer in the new position within station)
- you can construct/connect new modules to the modules that are not finished (under construction).
- the area where you can build the station is called "plot". The plot size can be expanded, but you have to pay for it (in core regions, and cheaper or for free in fringe regions).
- you can forcefully obtain the plot (more or less step towards sector takeover)
- fringe/wild regions will have very limited or no workforce
- docks can be also used for garage for user ships.
- commading combat from the map level is orgasmic (nearly like Homeworld 2)!!!!!!
- Carrier launch massive wave of fighters...big eyecandy
- map icons seems to be very similar to X3 (you can see the M3, M4 and M5 icons and well as carrier icon, frigate icon) each is very distinct and readable - missiles are also visible on the map.
- station construction ships don't have to be owned, can be hired (kinda like NPC TLs in X3)
- if the game is too colorful for you there will be adjsutable color-correction profile.
- booster engines are currently draining shields, but they are leaning to switch to some kind of fuel
- mass traffic will also transport wares between stations and capital ships
- Carriers will have proper AI/scripts to make them something more thatn just a ship with dock
- you can physically fly between zones, but practically impossible to physically fly between sectors (it would take very long without jumps/highways)
- systems are separate (you can move between them only via gates/teleportation)
- the more I look on the footage of new Argon Nova the more I like it.

With the wi-fi/radio icon, right? I'm sure I saw some mouse-over text saying "Advanced Satellite" very early in the stream.
The Q&A thread mentions they're not sure if they'll include satellites, but it looks like they're leaning on "yes"?
Anyway, I don't really know what to say besides the game looks like a dream come true. This particular stream revealed a lot. Can't wait to see even more...

Game visuals are looking fantastic already.
That was my first thought, too. I aspected they just optimized the engine a bit but Bernd later said the first presentation was just with the XR-engine and now nearly everything was already rendered in the new Vulkan-engine.
The difference was very very good visible - mostly at the shadows.
I like the visual appearence a lot. Good work so far.
I'll have to watch the replay because I was distracted at the time, but seriously TY for showing us, telling us and being communicative that I think is genuinely well received by those who take an interest. Subsequently it is those players that will support you long term and through blips in drama....
