New guy needs help

Post by chiv_katal »

Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased X3AP on steam, I know I'm late and the game has been around for a long time. Off with the drama and on to the issue.

I can't mod, its telling me that i should separate my X3AP because it is in steam, I have no idea how to separate it, and the obvious copy paste to another folder doesn't work. I was hoping you guys could shed some light on this.

Thanks in advance

If a simple folder copy and paste does not work then that is an issue with your PC and its permissions rather than the game. Can you C&P other folders? Have you sufficient administrator permissions within an administrator account to do this action?

Don't copy it within Steam or even into Programs, copy it somewhere else such as a new folder that you create for it wherever you keep your non-Steam games.

If you copy the directory you need to make sure you use the no-steam exe. Otherwise, when you try to run the game, it'll launch it from steam and run from the directory that steam uses.

The no-steam exe removes the link to steam and runs the game from what ever directory the exe is launched from
