Game not starting. Anyone help?

Hello!

The problem I have right now with my X-Rebirth is that when i try to play the game through steam, it starts up saying i start playing rebirth, but it just quits before anything even comes up to do anything with.

Its been several months now, and was hoping it was just a minor thing, but i think my x-rebirth game is somewhat screwed up in a way.

I have deleted it from my computer and redownloaded it and the problem still consist.

I honostly have no idea what could be the issue, so i am resulting into the forums for help.

I have a G series, G750JW.

The first thing to do is to post a Dxdiag so the support team can have some information about your system and maybe make some suggestions, it your Dxdiag is fine then they can take it further from there.

Hi there, and sorry to hear that

I guess you are not getting pop-ups from your anti-virus or that sort of thing?

What are your system specs? It's a bit of a long shot but I have a well-specced PC and when I load the game, there is a pause between the "Launching Rebirth" window disappearing and the game starting to go full-screen.

By any chance, do any Rebirth processes remain in your Task Manager after it seems like the game isn't running?

If you can post a dxdiag file on a file-sharing place like google drive, someone who knows what their are talking about might be able to help you better than I

Hello, not sure what a dxdiag file is, but my computer is a new ROG G series notebooks from asus.

I have a G750JM to be exact.

And no, the game pops up on the task manager when i play it, but it vanishes a sec or 2 secs later.

Egosoft have written a guide to for obtaining your DXdiag at the following link.

It will generate a file that is probably bigger than we can post in one post. Therefore saving it as a text file and uploading it somewhere for free (e.g. goggle drive) may be best.

Your DxDiag Error Report identifies the X Rebirth problem as to do with a missing or incorrect dll called VCOMP100.DLL. This dynamic-link library file used for application multi-tasking should be in C:\Windows\System32 so please check if it is there.

Mine looks like this: vcomp100.dll 11/06/2011 0215 55.8 KB (57,168 bytes)

It also may be that the wrong bitsize version of that dll is trying to be used because of any recent changes back and forth that you may have made between 32 and 64 bit exes for Rebirth.

I just checked and i do have comp110.dll in my system files at the correct spot.

Only other possibly that yes the wrong bit size version may be trying to use a different version.

The only problem is that i do not know how to fix this issue of selecting the different bit exes for Rebirth.
