100 ECells Quest: Trader sells to wrong station

I have the bug where I have bought the ecells, and attempt to sell them to The Lonely Giant, and the trade ship immediately fires his jump engines and goes and sells them somewhere else. In this case he goes to Buried Treasure, but I've noticed it isn't always the same sector after repeated attempts. I've been fighting with this for 6+ hours, I give up and am going to use someone else's savegame.



I did a save just after trader jumped away to sell the 100 ecells, and got this from the save file:

I went and got the savegame posted in this thread where the cells get correctly delivered and it has this:

<trade id="[0x1c2a]" buyer="[0x4fd0e]" ware="energycells" price="4" amount="100" min="100"/>
</shopping>
</trade>


So this issue isn't lack of patience while the trade ship gets serviced by the station, this is a bona fide bug where the trade command is setting the wrong destination station for the trade.

Ahh, well noticed. That explains why my cargo ship does something different most times I try to sell.

I'm fed up and don't know if I should wait for patch, or try and get my money back. I might try and edit the buyer id in my save file but if it dosen't work will be even more pissed off....

General advice is in this post and thread.


It may be an idea not to any side quest while waiting despite the dialogue.

Sorry Mr. Phipps,

Been there, done that. Do the side quest/don't do the side quest, inspect the station and get discount/don't inspect the station at all, dock while load/ unload happens/leave zone before loading and unloading/wait in zone undocked while loading/unloading, wait for trade ship to be right next to you while making transaction/make transactions before the tradeship gets into the zone; started complete new campaign and did most of the above all over from scratch.

Using the link in the post you referred to to get the unglitched savegame ended up being the only solution.

if it delivers to the wrong station you did not select the correct delivery station in the trade window
