[X3TC] Buying Sectors

Post by Aidyer »

I know you could on X3R, for 650M you could buy the sector "Avarice", which is known as "Unknown Sector" in X3TC, that is situated between Montalaar and New Income. Can you still do this in X3TC? I never got around to this in X3R. This is my goal, if it's possible.

Well, last night I just moved in and started building there in TC. Hope that'll be OK.

As part of the A New Home plot in TC you're able to purchase a partially customizable sector for yourself, the Unknown sector way east next to Zarth's.

Oh I see. Just that there were two asteroids with great yeilds in that sector, there for a reason?
But anyway, how do I start and finish that mission?

You can buy a sector near Zyarth's Dominion. And name it from a list.

And it's a different sector depending how you name it.

One of the options has purple lighting!!!!

Hope that answers your questions :)

I had a feeling a drop down list would be in there somewhere, I'll have to trial-and-error every one to find the one that suits me ;)

Need to do that mission though, so how can I start and... progress through it?

"Note: None of the main plots except Treasure Hunt are available if you choose Custom start, and the Terran plot is not available if you choose the Aldran Adventurer start."

Wow. So to do this I have to start again. Why can't we do it in custom??
*Sigh* I'll leave that for now I guess. Thanks for the help anyway.
But If I do decide to start again, what's the best one to start as?

Not Custom. Seriously, you kind of made the worst possible choice for your first start :o

Humble trader seems to be one of the easiest

Because the point of custom is to specifically disable the plots so they won't interfere with any custom content.

Many people prefer Tormented Teladi or Poisoned Paranid as they have mini-quests attached that can earn you an overtuned (faster than normal) version of a rare ship.

Paranid seems to be the best one so far...but you gotta accomplish teladi one first.

If you check S&M there's a small script to enable plots in a custom start.

Oh great! Some hope! :D

I'm still a noob on these forums. What's S&M?

Sidenote: I only chose Custom as that's what I did in X3R, as I didn't like to stick to storylines, or be something specific. But I guess it's different in X3TC, after reading the comments
