Help!! Where to put my money on release!

Hey everyone, love the X series, been a huge fan ever since the very first.

I dont buy alot of games anymore, and when i do buy them, id like my money to go to the devs who made the game, not some 3rd party like steam and so on.

So my question is, where should i buy XR on release, so that the devs would get most out of my money. The store (in denmark), somewhere online?

Would it be possible that egosoft would sell it on the frontpage? then i could imagen that they would get all of MY MONEY

Yeah the game will probably pop up at http://www.egosoft.com/shop/ but not any of the DLC as the game will be removed from Steam if they do that.

I would imagine egosoft get most of the money from publishing on steam, or at least more than they would with any other distribution method, steam has much lower publishing costs than store-based publishers so they won't have to charge as much as other publishers.

Of course they still take a decent cut as they do provide all the download bandwidth, updating infrastructure, and some bonus advertising, and deep silver will also want a cut for funding the game, but steam is probably your best bet unless they somehow offer it direct from the studio, which is a bit odd.

Deep Sliver are Egosofts publishers, and its there choice to put it on steam, so no only will Steam take a cut but Deep Sliver will take a cut as well. Not sure if Steam get a cut from store bought games if they install on Steam but I suspect so. So Steam will probably still make the most money for Egosoft as they don't loss the few pennys it costs to make the box and disk.

also remember, that retail stores will take thier cut, so that reduces the amount that gets back to the publishers/developers

buying directly from egosoft would be your best bet, althou they usually have limited quanities and have to check the postage, especially if your outside of europe
