X3:R HQ and Complex

Just got my HQ and just wondered - can you link it into a complex? And if so is it a good idea?

They seem to be doing something. Just buying more of the existing stock. Do they stop buying after a while or just fill it up forever? )

Headquarters: A pilot working for an HQ has as much storage space reserved at the HQ as his ship can possibly hold. This goes for every single ware. However, since version 3.2.01, the Ware Manager is able to skip this and allocate a separate storage area for every ware.
Thus, it depends on how many wares you add and whether you set limits, shall they stop after a while, or when full.

To make them sell, you set "Trade with other races" to 'Yes', but then they do not buy at all.

All too complicated for me :p

All I wanted them to do is get resources as needed but it looks really complex to do.

Perhaps DWM and a few CAGs would sort it out. What do you think?

DWM and CAG is fine. NPC production of some ship building material (Microchips?) might be bit low, but CAG should cover most needs.

But you did initially ask about joining HQ to a Complex. That I have done. A selfsufficient Complex that produces all ship building resources. And one CLS Mk1 Dolphin SF, which delivers all needed wares to the HQ. Needs DWM for proper limits though.

CLS Mk1 (aka Internal Commodity Logistics) is (ship) equivalent of a complex construction kit (but can span to other sectors).

That sounds cool. So you can have mines elsewhere linked into comlpexes etc?
