hi, i bought this game on the weekend it released but stopped playing due to the difficulty of some of the missions, id like to try out the new patch but, i accidently snapped my dvd disc of x3tc...
ive read the 'copy protection' sticky about a possible no cd patch but it wont be released anytime soon.
does anyone have any advice on how i get playing again?

If you bought it at a shop and still have a record of purchase, the best thing to do is return it and ask for a replacement. If it was brought over the internet, that is obviously more of hassle to do. There is nothing on EGOSOFT's side which can be done about it unfortunately. Several people have had similar mishaps and a the majority need to buy the game again.

A good start would be to register your game first on your profile, just as a courtesy really. Nothing legally binding
No one can then object to you using your brothers disk.
And no, you should not need to perform a re-install if you use a new disk.

One answer to this would be to demonstrate that you own a legal copy of the game and are not making up an elaborate story to cover not having one. I wouldn't accuse you of the latter but it would make it clear to everyone that might be reading that they shouldn't give you a hard time about it.HookedOnX3 wrote:i still have my box and code so that wouldn't be a problem, but why would it be nessercary?
