Is the hq worth the money of bying the tradin station for them.

Q:should i buy them the trading station?

most definitely... it's a must have, the most valuable piece of equipment in the game bar none...

Bala Gi research missions. Refer to sticky at top of this forum.

To begin you need good rep with all races, 5 mill credits and one station. However it will cost a great deal as you progress through the missions so you will need a good income first.

After the PHQ was in my Mammoth, I checked out the price value of it (while docked at kingdom end); almost 300,000,000 credits, and that was in my ship. Given that once anything is purchased from a shipyard it's value immediately decreases by around 30% (?) this means the PHQ would be worth an additonal 100,000,000 - around 400,000,000 credits, if it was possible to buy it at all. So, yes, it is worth getting that trading station for the Bala Gi mission... you will get back in spades........

edit: I should have saved game, and then try to sell it to the shipyard to see if it could be done.... not that I ever would... :)

You can put it in your own TL and sell the TL - I think it makes the kit and caboodle worth more than 200 million. I nearly did that by mistake once in Kingdom End. Talk about a heart in mouth moment!!

I don't think there is any other way to sell a station in a game without scripts.

what resorses does the hq need to do anything like build ships,things for trading,killing.

Usually the PHQ needs Teladianium, Energy Cells, Micro Chips, Quantum Tubes, Computer Components, Rastar Oil, Crystals, Silicium, Ore, Cloth Rhimes and for some ships Nividium and in addition to this some Credits.

The amount of ressources and credits varies from ship type to ship type and depends on what you want to do, build or repair ships. Concrete values you can see if you had reverse engineered a ship and look to the informations about it.

Up to now the PHQ is not possible to build/ produce other things expect ships.
Therefore you need complexes or stations.

There is a spreadsheet in the stickies with the costs (materials and credits) for all the ships. Plus the HQ will tell you what it needs if you highlight the blueprints and press i.

Making ships is designed to be cheaper than buying them but not a good way to make money, basically!

If your one of those players that uses elephants for all your patrols, you save a lot of money making your own ele. I tend to use a lot of caiman Haulers, so that is the ship I make the most.

The hq however can be used another way, RE ships that can not be baught. You now have a way to get them.
It docks more cap ships than the eq does... and is cheaper.
Unlike the eq dock the HQ can hold any number of anything untill its huge cargo is full. For example a eq dock can ony hold 4 ahepts and 6 25mj shields. You can in the hq hold much much more... making outfiting your other ships much much easier than ever before.
It is also a sweet looking station.

So yeah the HQ is worth it even if your not into mass producing ships.

For Location. I tend to claim Brennan's Triumph as a home sector.... but this latest game I took influence from Terracorp. Placed it in Home of Light. Wow was that a good idea :D I still make heavy use of Brennan's triumph.. but with the HQ in Home of Light I have, a argon destroyer and a argon Carrier protecting it ( the ai not my own :D ) A Jump drive and mk3 trade available in same sector as the one I build ships in... and .. well the advantages go on and on. Basicly it saves me a lot of time and credits.

There is a mod to add Bala Gi ships etc to your game. Once installed they become availible to buy at various stations across the universe.
The PHQ costs 195 million to buy.

What mod is that Kipper?

I'm poor like really, really poor-new game 2 hours have 10k Boron start no weapons and no upgrades.... :D

Will eventually get a HQ even if i have to cheat-don't mind cheating.
