Top trumps
A long time ago, in a thread deep in the bowels of the forum, somebody mentioned there not being any top trumps of X3. Well boredom does strange things to some people, over the last few days i was this person.
Yes i started to make up a few top trump cards, (although they could also be used as basic reference cards aswell).
Here is a taster of a card.

Any ideas on improvements? Anything else should be added to the list?
There are a few different colours, so which colour do you like best, or should there be a selection of colours?
And most important would you want something like this?

Gosh, top trumps, me too. Brings back memories as I had a great pack with all the best cars on them when I was a young lad.
I like the green and purple too, the red looks very harsh and the black a little gloomy.
I also think a nice square border around the specifications would look good, maybe a sort of sci-fi looking pattern, if there is such a thing.

Like the idea of a pattern around the specs, i will have to have a look at the x3 images, maybe something for each races ship, so a boron ship will have a boron border etc.
Northstar and Stevio
I used to play top trumps as a kid and nearly had the whole set, but that was many moons ago, i actually wonder what i did with them.

There are some good race logo graphics on tex\true\1141.tga which might look really good as a card emblem.DIGSIN wrote:Like the idea of a pattern around the specs, i will have to have a look at the x3 images, maybe something for each races ship, so a boron ship will have a boron border etc.

There are also strips of metal for each race that might do as borders in the dds folder.

Its looking good, maybe a faded space scene in the background would look good, but either way keep up the good work mate

Captain Chris
Thats X2, so far there is nothing for X3. Thanks for pointing that out though, i did'nt even know they existed.
Northstar
Thanks for the info, it will save a bit of searching.
Brodie
That is probably where i first saw it.
Now i can blame you for all this work i decided to take on
Not to sure what you mean by a faded space scene.

Yup it looks like im to blame, sorry
What I meant was a basic space scene, a bit of a planet, sun coming over the crest of it maybe a ship flying past etc, and have that in the background of each of the cards, not it all its technicolour glory but faded, colours and definition muted so it wont intrude on the cards features.

I was thinking of something like this for the reverse side of the cards, but rather than on each individual card, a big one ( or more) to cover as many cards as possible making the reverse of the cards a basic jigsaw.
