Work In Progress

Post by esd »

Something I'm working on at the moment.

Other than the obvious, what else does it need? Is a front spoiler really needed?

meshsmooth be thy friend :-)
looking cool, modeling a car like this is simplified by the procedural maping you can get away with but a royal pain in the butt somtimes to convince it to stay smooth and not look like it's been in a crash with a Volvo 940.

You seem to be winning that particular battle though, looking good

Trying to make the windows/cabin at the moment. Keeping the cabin as part of the same mesh (and no mesh smooth now... made the meshsmoothed object directly editable).

Some sensible wheels wouldn't hurt, or pop-up headlamps. Other than that, very nice.

Been thinking of making a The Fifth Element style hovercar with it, actually. That'll be a seperate project though :)

The wheels I have plans for. Some serious chromed-up "bling", and all that. Pop-up lights were my original plan, but the lines don't really support it.

May I recommend inset/embedded headlights?
We may need to modify the expected collision between our galaxy and Andromeda...

Suggest ..

A long ridged rear spoiler say starting at 1/2 way down the rear window, about 1/3 the depth of the 'boot' and at say 15 degreees ..

Some nice headlights stretched along the side ridges ? From front on it'd lookd similar to 2 vertical lines ..

A bit around the curve along the front be a nice meshy grille .. or scoopy ;)
I am weird tho ;)
Setup: Quad Q9550/2.8Ghz, 4Gb low latency RAM, 8800GTX/768, 24"widescreen 5x500Gb SATA2s, Win7.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the windows... but not sure what to do with 'em now, as I'm past the point of no return and into the area of manually moulding many hundreds of polys.

Glad you like the door though :D
