Help needed (newbie): Save game modding

Hi, I've been using a hex editor to try to modify the ammount of credits I have in the game, but I cant seem to find the relevant HEX string. I've looked at several cheat sites and they all said to look for the same string. Any ideas? I'm running version 1.4 of the game.

y go to all the trouble of editing your save games to add credits when a simple script would do ?

If I knew how to script, I would. I've tried using the Thereshallbewings thing to get the script editor open, but I cant get it to work.

you type it in open space, make sure u use shift+t to get the first T

once enabled, you will find the option to open the script editor in your commands

to add money you only need a 1 line script

Hi there. Finally got the script editor to work. Have since made and executed 2 scripts to add cash and big mega shields to my Nova. Thanks for the help.

This thread is a direct result of the atleast somewhat lack of a link to a money cheat script. There are several of these money cheat scripts most notable money fixer or bank robber which I think were at the commander's site. Somehwere there should be a sticky called money cheat look here or something like that so people don't end up starting new threads for money cheats. When I get some time later on today I think I will upload the money fixer script to a rapidshare site somewhere and post a link to it here.

the script editor is built into the game, you dont need a seperate copy of it
