Scripting noob

I've read how to activate the scripting thingy but the guides I've read don't actually tell you how to download a script and use it. after hours of scrolling through '$= ware blah , null value standard ,E=MC2' I gave up and need to know how to use a script that is waiting on the desktop!

downloading and use other ppls scripts are pretty simple, most of the time you just download them and unpack them into the main directory and when you next load the game with the scirpt editor, the scripts will load up and you can start using them
