Erm, rather daft question; how do I uninstall this? I got a little carried away with installing mods and scripts and screwed something up, so I decided to reinstall X3TC, this time not in program files. I went to uninstall this, and was told I don't have sufficient access. I also can't uninstall it via the start menu, since it tells me there is no uninstall.exe. So how do I uninstall it?

hello Cycrow.
I have windows 7 with 1.30 lite installed. i really like this program, but im having trouble. I'm no wis kid with this stuff so I'm not really sure what the problem is and thought id ask you sence you mess with this stuff.
My ships and scripts install perfect for graphics and placement in stations but all ships added even if its one ship or many have weapons problems. i get missiles for main weapons with no missiles to install. the turrets work fine but a bird of prey with aft turrets only makes it a good day to die. Is there something i can do to fix. been looking all over but nobody is saying anything like this that ive found.
I did have a clue though. i used your cheat program to look at ships and the ships that you normally dont get from Egosoft, but made by them. I had the same problem when i got into the ships.
If you or anyone else know how to fix - it would really make my day, and make it a good day to die for the other guy.

I had the problem you had too. Found that disable and enabling worked well. for clearing and testing. i install first then disable the ships. start a new game and test them using cycrows cheat program.
this way your not using your saved game and if anything screws up you can disable or uninstall if you don't like the ship or its not working right.
I find one ship at a time works best. that way you know which one to remove should the game start messing up.

should the plugin show up in the select mod list?
should the plugin show up in the select mod list? i have a mod that will show up when i start x3tc but i can't get the plugin to recognize it as a mod.
secondly as stated should the plugin show up in the select mod list? for me it doesn't and i'm wondering if that has something to do with none of my ships appearing in game.
and before i forget to get the ships to appear in game do i have to access them using the in game script editor?

edit: I am using the beta plugin
however, if any mod also uses a file there, it'll cause problems with the plugin manager
make sure you close the plugin manager before running the game thou

ah then there is my problem. my game directory doesn't have a TShips.pck file. will the game/plugin create this automaticly or should i go for the reinstall

ok i'll try to make these my last questions as i'm sure you guys have better things to do than toy with us noobs.
1. is there a limit to the amount of ships i can have running? ex. 30 unique .xsp ships through the plugin?
2. I learned how to make ships appear in the different shipyards (albiet only AFTER i have found said species and shipyard). what i want to know is will the npc start using those ships automaticly or is there a particular script i have to run in order for a specific race to use a specific ship in their fleet lineup?

Hi Cycrow,
I have just purchased TC for the Mac and am finding myself quite lost without the plugin manager, I am a php developer currently researching Obj-c for use on osx / ios devices, I would like to implement a mac version of the plugin manager and was wondering if you would be willing to release the source, I would be willing to sign some-sort of contract to ensure you retain all rights and that I won't be looking to profit from the application, would love to know what you think?
Additionally - what checks does the win32 version do when selecting the TC install directory, I have tried to use plugin manager from a windows VM pointed at the install location on my osx partition and I can't seem to get it to work.

I have an odd problem. I used to run this game and plugin manager fine with my old computer, and now that I upgraded I thought I would give it another go. However, I have run across this problem:
Whenever I run this game with the plugin manager in modified mode, my game will freeze anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes into the game, usually around the 5 minute mark. The freezes will sometimes go away if I let it sit for about 10 minutes, and I spent a couple hours seeing if I had to just get through it, but no luck.
I tested this mod-less as well. I had vanilla running perfectly for hours, but then I ran it with just the plugin manager and it froze just minutes into the game.
I tested it without the plugin manager and with .cat and .dat modding and that worked fine.
I have tried windows XP sp3 compatibility mode and in administrator mode on all files in the plugin folder and x3tc itself.
I even tried using the 1.40 beta plugin manager with all of the above tests and got the same results.
My laptop is a Lenovo Y560 IdeaPad
4gb of ram
i7 processor
windows 7 64bit
Anyone have any ideas?

i have the source code for the library functions which should compile under linux and most likly osx as well

the library is fully capable of installing scripts and ships from the command line thou

one thing you can try is to disable the AL plugins, theres 2 that are part of the plugin manager.
cant think of any other scripts that are run that would cause that

Oops! Didn't post my question properly so here i is again.
I have X3 reunion 2.5 upgraded with the bonus package.
I installed the beta version but the emp in the program doesn't seem to take effect. This problem is only for the beta. Not the previous one. I tried to install the standalone EMP but that does not work either.
What am I doing wrong?
Also the xpk convert doesn't work. I click it and it opens and closes instantly.

The spkconvert.exe is a command line tool. You have to run it from the windows command console / terminal (cmd.exe). See this post for a basic explanation.Also the xpk convert doesn't work. I click it and it opens and closes instantly.

if u get the latest beta, it fixes the uninstaller.
however, it only works by using the shortcut from the startmenu or running the uninstaller from the game menu.
not sure y it doesn't work from add/remove programs, its some problem with NSIS i think
