Computer gets fried/rebooted, same way that Xenon ships "bail". I can't remember if the author ever got around to adding a toggle to this feature in the AL menu.atx711 wrote:Point is, my ships are controlled by the command console, aka computer control, no pilots. So how the hell does computer eject? Lol. If you know how to disable this annoying thing please let me know soon!Khaakbuster wrote:Do you expect your own pilots to commit suicide and stay in the ship?
I've never seen it happen but if own pilots bail I would consider it an extremely cool feature. It's better than loosing a ship after all.

how do i configure this mod? and does it work with xtended?
EDIT
yeah, since installing this mod the game freezes a few seconds after entering the game world, wether you load or start a new game, i am hoping it is not an error withe xtended because that is the whole reason im playing x3 atm
any ideas why it might be doing this?

Gwyvern : are you using Plugin Manager Lite ? coz thats known to conflict with XTC. Best is to install scripts and files directly into the directory. And be informed each time you open Plugin Manager Lite a map types will be created that might conflict. i delete that map each time i use Plugin Manage Lite.
Also be informed xtended has its own bailing scrips :
quote from XTC:
Custom built NPC bailing scripts. All ships can now be forced to bail, even capital ships. Bailing chance now depends on the difficulty level chosen in the XTC difficulty options.

Be aware that doing this will cause any scripts that rely on the plugin manager to add this file - in tern editing a ware in the EMP - will no longer function correctly after you delete this file - you could notice a major difference in the cost of a particular emp based wareqwizzie wrote:C:\Program Files (x86)\EGOSOFT\X3 Terran Conflict\types
(make a backup just in case.. it should only contain a TwareT
file placed by the plugin manager. In my case it keeps placing
a TwareT & Tships file).

Hey, I've been having the same problem that Gwyvern was having but without X-Tended installed (I'm using the Steam version and apparently it isn't compatible with the latest patch).
Is there any way to install this script straight into the directory as opposed to using the Plugin Manager, just incase that's what's causing the error.
If not, are there any other plugins out there that increase the bail rates?
Cheers

You can install the plugin manager but NOT open it. Ever (or, if you do, then delete the tware file). Just use its spk explorer to extract the script files in this plugin to install them manually.Lagathor wrote:Hey, I've been having the same problem that Gwyvern was having but without X-Tended installed (I'm using the Steam version and apparently it isn't compatible with the latest patch).

However, while the manager issue with XTC is well known (when you open and close it, it automatically generates a Tware file based on what you have installed, which saves a lot of time at setting up EMP based mods), this usually works flawlessly with pretty much anything out there but total conversion such as XTC (and, really, XTC is pretty much the only real TOTAL conversion around, as it rewrites pretty much everything, scripts included, from scratch).
If you're having freeze issues at the beginning of the game, and are not using such a dangerous combo with XTC, the issue might be something completely different (for instance, the latest jobs for SRM do cause freezes, so one has to use the old version, and so on).
As I read this latest steam version messes with the universe map, I would say that's a likely culprit as it sure isn't incompatible only with XTC.
As for other bailing plugins, not that I know of. There are, however, a couple of plugins that handle "bailing" with a completely different, and way simplier, approach, by slowly spawning some random wrecks around the universe while you play. Bailing itself remains untouched, you might just happen to find a new wreck while flying around. Much less realistic, of course, but if what you care most for is the salvaging part rather than the "bailing" itself, these might be a viable (and surely much less demanding on the system) solution.

Having problems here. First few battles I fight, the script seems to behave fine, I've got the bail rates turned down fairly low, 1 for small ships 2 for big ships. Anyhow, the first couple battles after I load up, ships that bail are claimable. However, after I've been playing awhile this seems to break and all of the ships that bail cannot be claimed, usually pops up after about 4 or 5 ships have bailed and been claimed.
Currently running X3TC v3.1.1
• Bonus pack
• JSON parser library
• Marine Repairs (haven't tried using it yet)
• MARS fire control
• Board Station
Dunno if one of these could be screwing it up. After loading up a savegame (so far) the script seems to work fine and messes up after a few battles.

However, the salvage command software still works, so I suggest you try that as a workaround.

Any chance you can make bailed ships appear in an other color?
(like XTC does). I dont have much experience with scripting but if anyone wanna give me some tips that will be helpfull as well .. i suspect it means putting a call into one of yr a scripts which calls to a new script which will arrange this ? Or maybe it needs to call a signal?

Hey I've been using this script for forever and I thought I had it working but I guess I don't cause I really can't get it to bail ships consistently.
I'm using the latest version of the script and I can't seem to find any settings that force a pilot to bail, and unless I can find those settings I can't properly test this script.
So, for reference, trying to get Xenon Q's or any other M7 and above ships to bail 100% of the time. What are the settings? Both for Q's and for just normal race M7's?
Really though, if someone could just tell me what settings will force every pilot in any ship to bail 100% of the time that would be great.
Oh btw I noticed you guys talking about whether or not this script would cause playerships to bail. As far as I can tell, the answer is yes. I was attacking a Q with 6 Corvettes and it appeared at one point as if I lost one of them when in reality the corvette turned blue (became neutral), the only explanation for which is that the pilot bailed. The ship was at about 50% hull.
So yeah, playerships bail. I'd like to be able to turn that feature off to be honest.

Unable to claim abandoned ship
Hi,
It's been a while since I played X3. I abandoned the the game due to boarding operations made impossibly hard after 2.5 patch and sorta ruined the game for me, really wished they left it alone - it actually made boarding operations no longer economically viable.
Anyhoo I installed Cycrows NPC Bailing Addon. I successfully made lots of pilots bail and abandon their ships of quite a few Nemesis, Shuris, Brigantes etc. However when I come to claim the ship (now blue) (I eject, get to within 50m) the option to 'Claim Ship' is not there on its usual menu.
When M3's M2's and M1's are abandoned I can claim these ships but non of the bigger ships.
Any ideas why?
Cheers

I assume you mean ships bigger than an M3/M8 (and not that you have been claiming M1/M2 ships OK as you said). Why not ask in Cycrow's thread (or did you mean ThisIsHarsh who wrote the NPC Bailing addon script and also recommended Cycrow's Salvage Claim software particularly for the bailing big ships option's problematic claiming)? Anyway, two possible random guesses:
1. The still-vanilla claiming script is not meant to apply to those classes. (Unlikely reason)
2. You may be getting within 50m of the hull of the ship in your suit, but are you getting within 50m of the indicated centre of the ship for the software to work? Some ship hulls are just too big to get close enough without exploring gaps and almost getting inside them. (More likely reason)
Why not also install a (more) distant claiming script that doesn't even need you to eject? (In fact the recommended Cycrow's Salvage Claim scripts don't need you to eject and are for much longer-distance claims.)

I am getting exactly this problem except with M3's and above.Maddermanblue wrote:Hi,

Just because a big ship has bailed and is a floating derelict it still has to be boarded via marines. Unless using one of the claim software upgrades.
Ships that need marines to board them are anything from TM up to M1 although I believe you may be able to get TM's via space walk and claim now.
Still life in the old dog yet...
