@Klingens.
D'oh - you are dead right. I just looked at my spreadsheet and had pasted the basic Mercury price into the Hauler variant price cell. I'll repeat "If it looks too good to be true it probably is" a dozen times hourly...

To those who pick up ore/silicon rather than nividium: The trick is you should NOT break any other asteriod except the Nividium one. The "collect rocks in sector" command does not distinguish between ore/silicon and nividium, so if you break up other asteroid your TS might pick up ore/silicon instead of Nividium.

Just wanted to say a big thank-you for this! Tried it and it works like crazy. Just a quick Q tho...

How can you tell what rock you're looking at as your mineral scanner will only "scan" rocks that are big enough for a mine? I took a chance and shot a rock at the coordinates given and sure enough my mercury picked up Nividium. Is it just "shoot and see what you get" and if you don't get Nividium you re-load?

Are there any other safe places with Nividium rocks around? Thanks!

If you mean big rocks (ones that can hold mines), check in Perpetual Sin. The rest are in Unknown Sectors. One of the highest yield Nividium rocks in the southwest corner (zoomed out) in the last Unknown Sector past the Oort Cloud. Of course the highest yield rocks just happen to be in Xenon and Kha'ak sectors. There are smaller sized rocks with Nividium scattered thoughout the universe, I don't think anyone's made a list since the amount of rock debris clusters in the universe is quite high.

If you click on the small debre rocks and then click on the target button on the left hand side it will pop up a box witht he type of ore/silicon/nividum/ice in it.

larger asteroids are easer just click on then and press scan.

There are a few lists which give the coords for nividium rocks. Most of them are for X3:R but they essentially haven't changed for TC.

Thanks for the tip Jack! After my current wing is done collecting and before I send in another I'l go look for the other Nividium rocks and bust em up so I can support more ships at a time. 20? 30? 40!? woo-hoo!

I wonder if the 'freight transfer' can be partially automated using TMs to mine then using freight drones to unload at a TL... Then it is just one ship to then unload from to the shipyard...

Something along the lines of:

20 TM's each with a freight drone -> 1 TL with a freight beamer to transfer the nividium to another ship that is then sold at the shipyard?

It is not there to start with IIRC - it is spawned during one of the plots.

Ore belt isn't on the list of free floating clusters either.

How to tell which rock is nividium: just fly your plane with mineral scanner to the coordinate, then point your boresight at big asteroids, press t, then press i, a box will pop up telling you whether it's nividium, or ore, or silicon. In fact, most big asteroids closest to you should be nividium. I found seven.

Nividium cargo transfer: the problem is there is no ore collector for sale in Kingdom's end, so you have to purchase mercury in argon prime. I solve this problem by equiping each mercury with a transporter device. I never sell these original mercuries. With transporter device, they can beam nividium to larger ships that I buy at the boron shipyard in Kingdom's end, such as dolphin superfreighter or orca. It takes less than a minute to beam nividium from 26 mercuries to an empty dolphin superfreighter. If your mercuries are rather full, just buy ten dolphine superfreighters, or buy an orca. However, orca is not so cost effective, since its cargo size is just equal to five dolphin superfreighers, but its price is 10 times a dolphin superfreighter.

Collecting nividium with TL is inefficient, my friend tried TL but was rather disappointed, perhaps because TL is too slow. However if you account is near 20bn, using TL is not a bad idea. Currently my account is already 650 million.

A couple of questions about Nividium

Post by hallegue »

I have been playing for several days, in my game i have 53 ships and 47.5 millions. I am parked right now at Perpetual Sin at only 4.5Km from the asteroid that have Nividium 5, shooting mosquito missiles and ordering my Demeter to pick up rocks and no Nividium to be found.
Can you Pros, help me :?

Mosquitos will not blow up a huge 'roid, you'll need something more powerful for that.

Of those 3, only wraith are capable of destroy an asteroid, but you cannot fire them from a Panther.

Hornet missile or Mobile Drilling system weapon.

Or you'll have to go pick on smaller rocks (like the original post did).

Thanks a lot maphys, one last question.

You use the mobile drill system like a weapon right?

Right - just fly close to the asteroid, aim, fire. Wait a little bit. Get hit by debris and realise that you should have parked a little further back!

I swear Nividium used to be worth half a million apiece in Reunion, anyway, you could sell it full price at space jewlleries then, but only 2 units at a time
