I think I've found a bug. It seems the last two weapon slots for the topside rear-facing and topside foward facing turret batteries will not fire, nor will placing a weapon in that mount cause a turret to appear on the appropriate mount. When using the advanced turret commands, this causes the top turrets to never get mounted ever, even during an attack. The turrets on the bottom seem to have the same problem, however I haven't yet identified which guns aren't working on the bottom.

EDIT: Just tried it again. The forward turret batteries have the same problem. In fact, it seems that every turret battery except for the right and left ones (on the flight pods) have one or more nonfunctional guns.

I think I know what you are talking about. There is an issue with the lasers the only way around it is to replace the turrets with different turrets. I might have a look at using an unmodified version of the Huge Turrets as mine are modifed a bit. I cut the lasers on it from 4 to 2.
I might have another try at getting Coxxons Galactica Turret to work as I have been wanting to use that rather than the Huge Turret as Coxxons is meant to go on the Galactica anyway, however Turrets are very very touchy and temperamental and the hardest things to do. So far Ive managed to get one to rotate but not to fire. I will not give any ETA on a fix for this as this one is a very time consuming thing to sort out as not only do you have to replace the turrets but the Tships also needs to be modified for every gun on every turret. Also if I replace them I also will have to reposition every turret again or they will be sticking above the hull. Basically I can put together an entire ship minus the turrets in far less time than it takes just to do the turrets just to give you an idea on whats involved with them.
Im going to check it out as I did see something on a couple of other forums though about custom turrets having that issue.
All my guns are visible though on my turrets on Galactica. Its one thing I do look at and I fly around the ship and look at each turret as I like to check placements out to make sure there are no gaps etc between the hull and turret as well as make sure that they are visible.

When I mount all the guns, all the turrets do show up, it's just that one gun in each of the last two turrets won't fire (the bottom two entries on the gun list). The gun that causes the turret to be visible does work, but it's earlier in the list.

Some good news I seem to have got Coxxons Turret working :D
Just got to put it on Galactica now and do some testing.

Working on the Valkyrie at the same time so I will release them together.
The Valkyrie poses some interesting problems for cockpits for the guns due to the way the guns are laid out on her. I also want to do the turrets that come with her as well as custom engines. This is a fun model to work with I must say! Im pretty happy with the new turrets on Galactica also and I ran her through a field test against 3 older style Basestars and 50-60 raiders. She just came out alive! Im considering redoing the custom engines on her though depending on what happens with the Valkyrie.

Update.

Ok guys just gonna fill you in on whats going on with the Valkyrie here.
I have run into a serious issue with her in that when she is exported to bod format the bod file weighs in at a massive 26 megs!!! The Galactica's bod file is 5 megs. The Valkyrie is full of greebles and Nurnies which are causing this so...... I have two choices here.
1. Go through the model carefully removing them to get the size down while still maintaining a decent look.
2. Email Infinity and pray to god he did a low poly version

One of the Nurnies I found that is duplicated twice on her is 8000 polys alone. There are roughly about a hundred Nurnies and Greebles that I can see at a glance.
What all this does is makes the model look very highly detailed and when reimprting from bod back into max I was waiting nearly half an hour and she was still loading up. Both Galactica and Pegasus take roughly 5 mins to load into max from bod format.
So now all I can say is please dont hold your breath as this one could take a while to get into game.
Im gonna move her to the side for now and try something out on the Galactica while I figure out the Valkyrie.

Look here is a BSG Ship Mod in the german Forum they use your modells but the textures are better then .

I checked out that video.
A. They didnt credit me in it at all and they are using all my ships.
B. They are the textures from my XSP's with the specular maps just bumped up.
C. They dont have the new Galactica.
D. They didnt credit Coxxon either.
E. Hatzi annoyed me with PM's
F. All of my ships are in XSP Format and I give credit where due. ie to Coxxon
G. The textures are also Coxxons Textures he made the models and did the UVW Mapping I converted everything to X3 Format.
H. German Mods should not be posted in this forum. This is for English Mods and I have been aware of that mod for quite some time as Hatzi was sending me PM's galore and also to Mox as he wanted us to design turrets etc for him.

and my god whoever made that video needs a lesson in simple video editing.

Certainly looks like your work, very rude of them not to credit you for it.

Is the valkyrie you are working on from series 3 ?

hopefully it will be a little smaller than pegasus and fir through the jumpgates without getting stuck.

Yup she is from series 3.
The Valkyrie is more modern than the Galactica. Adama and Tighe were sent to the soon to be retired Galactica for punishment when they lost a top secret Stealth Ship over the Cylon Border.
The Valkyrie is just slightly smaller in length also than the Galactica

hate to be a wuss here, but, I'm fairly deep into my game and I'd hate to start over, again. Anyway of making this new ribbed BSG a different model game wise, so we can install it, purchase it, and move our current BSG ship assets and fleet over to it? Instead of this new ribbed BSG replacing our old BSG, and ruining our save games??

Great work on this Hawks and Coxxon. Just incredible.

I'll try remember to do that for you with the new version. Currently Im working on the Valkyrie and getting her file size down to a reasonable level. Im also going to try improve the Galacticas engines and I have got Coxxons Galactica turrets fully operational. Im also doing the turrets that came with the Valkyrie also. Just still trying to figure out one damn cockpit issue regarding upper and lower turrets to stop the porcupine thing happening as thats annoying me to death. Been doing some trolling though regarding that so Im going to play about with it when I get up tomorrow.

Thanks Hawks. I think many people would appreciate that. Maybe you could just change the names of these ships a little with a version number that appears in game, only in those instances where "upgrading" these ships results in corrupt save game files. It's easier to move a fighter squadron from one capital ship to another, than it is to start over (especially after having a few hundred hours in a universe, lol)

I have the X3 editor, but I have no idea what files to edit to add the cylon ships to the Xenon nor the Kyoto Class to the Yaki armada. Which files would I open in X3 editor ?

You don't use the X3 Editor, you use Cycrow's Ship Installer.

Not if you are replacing Xenon ships. You need to edit the Tships.txt and replace the Xenon ships there. Also you might want to change the description which is in the 440001.xml. Also be aware that if you change these ships then go and install another ship to your mod with ship installer then the Xenon ships could be overwritten with the default ones. You would need to extract them from an XSP and manually insert them into the mods CAT file and edit the tships.txt and 440001.xml to put the new ships into those. This has happened to me in the past.
