Been a while since I took part. I'll try to behave myself this time and not post a couple of dozen shots this time Belisarius.
First, a few of my images from another thread (sorry about the inconsistent thumbnail presentation)...
These first two show swarms of Eclipses in flight (they were approaching my Light Carrier at the time).
[ external image ][ external image ]
This third shows three Eclipses coming in to dock side by side. Big file, be prepared to wait for it.
[ external image ]
Finally, I call this last one "Do It Like Troll. Say It With Rocks - Big Rocks."
[ external image ]
When I have finished the complex in that sector I'll share a screenie of that with you too.

I design beautiful, powerful stations that transform your gameplay and look stunning. Now presenting Tachyon Developments - The Terran Collection - now with Community of Planets ship and station technologies!
My first attempt at hosting a screenie, hope it works!

With a bit of clever editing you can get a thumbnail to link directly to the image instead of posting links. Worth trying, use Edit if you need to experiment.
Default is this (don't like the capital letter default on the tags):
[ external image ]
Now if you click the next image you get taken to a page with just the image like the one you linked to...
[ external image ]
Just replace the bit after the URL= with the url for the image - you are basically, instead of telling the forum to use text to produce the image, telling it to use an image as a link instead. You could use both if you really wanted to.
[UR L=http://img43.imageshack.us/my.php?image ... n00007.png][IM G]http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/1840/x ... 007.th.png[/IM G][/UR L]
Broken, so it doesn't show as anything but text. The code for the first image link.
[UR L=http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/1840/x3screen00007.png][IM G]http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/1840/x ... 007.th.png[/IM G][/UR L]
The second.
If you wanted to do this, you'd use this code below.

That's quite enough cluttering up my post now I think. *Harrumph*
Okay, I think you get the idea of what my first submission is. Still, I'm going to put them altogether so they can be taken in context.

Like all great showreels, this comes with a story.
Date 768-06-05. The time of day escapes me, it's all the same in orbit anyway. Days are for planetsiders, not spacers like me who sleep when exhaustion overcomes them.
Exercise: Blue Wing proving grounds. Blue Wing consists of 32 fully outfitted Eclipses armed with 8XHEPTs, 2XPRGs in turrets, set to Defend Ship. High missile fire ratio, and believe me when I say high, I mean they shoot the darn things at anything red on their gravidar. Hombased to Merlin Industries Light Carrier - that's a Panther with a full loadout of IBLs and a couple of Flak Artillery Arrays to you. (I mean to fill out the turrets, just so much else that's more important... 32 Eclipses will make short work of anything anyway.)
One Very Hard Station Defence mission. Target: Crystal Fab M Alpha in Home of Light. Payout: Wound up something like three or four million. Losses: Minor hull damage to three fighters. One looked pretty badly beat up, likely lost shielding but survived. The blasted Pirates were using Mass Drivers, I hate it when that happens. Nothing a quick EVA and tickle with a repair laser couldn't fix anyway.
One Merlin Industries Fighter - Blue Wing. Hefty. Cost to replace and outfit fully: around seven, eight million not counting all upgrades. Lost the pilot but I look on that as more a positive - lesson learned for all members of Blue Wing: Just because you turn a huge patch of the Gravidar green does *not* mean you're invulnerable. Maybe they'll be more careful from now on.
Lessons Learned: For the present continue operations as normal. Deploy Blue Wing to mop up fighters *only* which make it past the Flaks on the Boreas-Class Merlin Industries Command Ship.
Look to get a proper Carrier. Fill out roster to 60 ships. Arm with Tempest missiles. Laugh maniacally as it becomes a very, very bad day to be a pirate.
Ahaha...Ahahaha...AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!

Woah dude, you're stealing my work!
So there's nothing left to do for me today except of my congratulations for your screen.
(Probably this dude sat the half weekend before his PC, pushing F5 on the mainpage every minute to be faster than me.
)
And here's the official link.

Gotta light the fire under you somehow.
I actually had to do a minor fix to that screen due to the mouse pointer being in a very bad spot. If you look very closely you'll be able to see where the mouse pointer used to be. Had to fiddle about (three seperate tries) before I was able get the hole cause by the mouse pointer to relatively match the background it was sitting on.
Edit: Some shots of new while I contemplate which unuploaded screenie to submit for next week.

Now where's the fun in that? I'd have to resend the entire batch every week, with any additions that I may come across in my travels. Unless it means that I don't have to send a weekly contender since you'd have my entire contender list (in it's most current form). I think my contenders folder has roughly 30-40 screens in it at this time. I'll think about it and let you know my decision via PM.Ogerboss wrote:What about just sending them all to me?

And the attachment would be huge, I'm not sure if it'd all fit in one email.
Edit: I pretty sure it's been brought up before but what about a "modified" SoTW for the people that use background visual scipts, blenders, and the like?

(not contenders here: JPG+poor resolution, and PNG is the best format

I'd "vote" also for a funny/unusual screenshot of the week, as presented here and here.

Everything in this thread, but especially these.

These two are, even if I say so myself, simply spectacular shots and took a great deal of effort to set up. Personally the second - at an angle - is my favourite shot.
[ external image ][ external image ]
The shot here with the Aquilo towing the mine is also particualrly pleasing; again, getting a sense of proportion and relative scale was a difficult task.

*click*, a new SotW and another masterpiece from Terre
@Targ Collective
*hinting to my email address*

@Deadbeat Spinn
Ok, then continue as atm, a few shots every week xD
And about the "modified SotW", maybe I could ask Bernd what he thinks about this, if enough people here would signalize that they're willing to contribute to such a collection.

Yeah, yeah I got lazy and neglected to send a contender.
As to Terre's SoTW, DAMN that's an exellent shot, I can't compete with something like that......truth be told I think any of Terre's screenies put mine to shame.
And if we get a "modified" SoTW, I will contribute whole heartedly.
So +1 for a "modified".
Edit: Would an announcement (of sorts) be possible? That way it could cover the entire forum since players tend to be active only in certain (sub) forums.
