You don't have to remove the GPU to run on the intel graphic unit
Just go to the drivers and select the integrated intel HD !

If money is currently an issue, you might wanna hold on a little bit more. The next update (1.19) might improve the performance to an acceptable level. But if you are able to upgrade then go for it :)

Skyrim is a console game. Rebirth cannot be (legitimately) compared because of the differences in CPU loading and its affect on FPS.

Wrong.

Skyrim is also very CPU greedy. But the engine, on the graphic level, is far better otpimized than the XR engine (for the moment at least).
Same for BF4.

And Liamwoodds : If you think thos games runs fine with your gt520, you'll be surprised with your next graphic card ^^'

I'm still amazed at the amount of dust a PC can collect.

Well I won't be getting one in till after Christmas so if 1.19 is out before, well it wouldn't hurt trying.

Can anyone let me know what is the better choice the Radeon HD 7770 2GB or the Radeon HD 7850 2GB.

They are very closely priced so I was wondering which would be the better choice?

Here is a Video Benchmark comparison site that'll provide you with a nice overview of hundreds of thousands of cards at a glance. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
X: Beyond the Frontier | X-Tension | X2: The Threat | X3: Reunion | X3: Terran Conflict | X3: Terran Conflict | X3: Albion Prelude | X Rebirth | X4: Foundations

Thanks for all the input, Nice to have a forum that actually offers decent support.

I have decided I will be fully upgrading my PC, I will be keeping the same CPU as I've been told by countless people it is still a decent CPU.

However I will be upgrading the motherboard to a MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming Series, Intel Z77 Motherboard - Socket 1155

The Ram supposedly should work in this board,

Also the PSU I will need to upgrade as mine does not offer the 6 - Pin PCI - E Adapters

and a Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 Pro as I find the stock intel fan I have at the moment sometimes causes my PC to crash due to not keeping it within the safe temperature levels

Everything else out of my PC Hard drives etc will be a simple transfer, and of course a better Graphics card as decided by my previous post and a decent case which has yet to be decided.

Of course I will be simply buying the parts and paying someone labor charges to install them all.

I am after all a novice when it comes to computer hardware and I wouldn't want to accidentally damage the hardware when installing them.

Hopefully once I've done all this the game should run fine.

:)

Try to ask a friend and "look over his shoulder" or try to get a good peek at what the guy is doing when installing the stuff, next time you can do it yourself(with a good feeling) and save some money!
Its only a few plugs here and there, no rocket science :)

A Gforce 520 is way too slow of a graphics card for this game.

I know this now, but before I brought the game a 500 Series nvidia graphic card was within the recommended specifications, it's not like i just brought the game without checking first as even the Game stores said my hardware was within the guided recommended specifications.

Which is why I will be upgrading.

The recommend specifications are a bit silly.

"A 500 series Nvidia graphic card" means nothing, as you seen yourself.
My old 8800GT is much better even today than your GT520 ^^

I'm getting the same sort of problems, haven't seen this thread you're talking about though.

My specs are:
Windows 8 64 bit
8G of DDR3 13333mhz RAM
AMD Phenom II quad core @ 3.64Ghz
GTX 590 (dual gpu) 3G of GDDR5 RAM onboard

I get about 20fps with everything on low and a lower resolution than my screen size. I get 3-5fps for big jumps of time. I haven't been able to get far, just recruited an engineer after the lastest patch, which hasn't fixed playability for me.

The point of me posting my specs in your thread is to say that the game just isn't playable right now for some people. With my specs, I should have no problem, same with yours realistically. I really hope these issues get fixed soon, I don't want to have to build a new PC with the same specs as the small percentage that can play this game with no tech problems

Well funny thing is my FPS has only gone down since the new patch (1.19), so I can only hope things can only get better.
