A few questions:
A). Which sector is the moonbase in?
B). All the other ships from X3 are in it, right?
C). In this picture:

It looks like there's a building on the surface. Did you make buildings and such on the moon that you can dock with?
D). Do you still have that artifact you mentioned on XFP that shows you how to get to Earth?
Sorry for so many questions.

As they say, you wouldn’t want to boronificate your potassigastrous plutonimeter before it magnesorites.

b). Yes. All default X3 ships are present
c). There are several building. You can dock to the moonbase via Docking Computer.
d). There are a couple of "artifacts" with Earth directions. However, in this mod you start out in Terran system; so there's not much need for directions how to get there.

Just a first impression:
1) The modular capital ships are great, very realistic and I love when u combine the mothership with the other m2s!!!
Very good made engine effect, no exaust gases (they are absurd in advanced ships such the X3's) but a very good made energy beam as in a futuristic (atomic?) engine. The cockpit purple light is very nice, so i the idea of avionics (....a bit phallic
)... rockets have such a shape not only for going through atmosphere but also to resist the structure stress coming from the big rear engine. The cilinder is simply the optimal shape for a big ship..
2) Sol system planets are not very nice, lowres texture, they rotate too quickly and are badly lighted. Maybe adding a second semitransparent gas layer to Jupiter can help make it seem more "gaseous", so the other gas ones. Earth is good enough...what about adding a second layer of lower clouds (the 2nd is empty since earth use only 1 single texture) that rotate to the other direction or simply faster (winds have different directions at the different latituds and diff. speeds accord. to highs)?
I'm enjoying the mod a lot so take my impressions for what they are or even ignore, no criticism just constructive critics

Thanks very much for your feedback Realspace.
Rotation is the same as ES planets. Lighting depends on various parameters set for each sector. Different people have different ideas about how much/little lighting sectors should have. You'll find this varies a lot from sector to sector.

Thanks. Yes, I agree having exhaust smoke trails looks kind of silly in this game. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure some people like them.Realspace wrote:1) The modular capital ships are great, very realistic and I love when u combine the mothership with the other m2s!!!![]()

Actually, those textures are VERY high resolution - MUCH higher than ES planet textures. Keep in mind Realspace, that this matter is a bit of a balancing act between image size and visual quality. Sure, we could use monster-size images, but then we risk player computer memory and performance issues.Realspace wrote:2) Sol system planets are not very nice, lowres texture, they rotate too quickly and are badly lighted.

That's the main thing.Realspace wrote:I'm enjoying the mod a lot

The best way to answer these questions SWAHILI is to simply play the mod.SWAHILI!!! wrote:To land on the moonbase, do you just fly through the atmosphere, or is there a docking elevator somewhere in space connecting it to the planet?
I hope you can just fly through the atmosphere.
S

But yes, you can fly through the "atmosphere".

Hi borralho, the moonbase is basically a gateway to the sectors which connect Earth system with the rest of the X3 galaxy. There is a special jumpgate on the surface of the moon (above the river). Additionally, there is a secret entrance to a tunnel wich leads to a huge in the center of the moon where there is another jumpgate to an otherwise difficult to reach sector. Yes, all ships can fly to the moon surface, and through the jumpgate. However, only smaller ships can navigate the tunnerl. Keep in mind that Transcend eliminates jumpdrives for ships smaller than M6. Generally, it's best to do initial exploration with M3 or M5's prior to jump commanding the larger ships.borralho wrote:sorry to bother you observe. just a question: m1, m2 and m6 ships can enter the planet?

1. The moonbase has gone through numerous incarnations over time. The version in Transcend is essentially the same model as in XFP with the exception that in XFP there is a shipyard in the underground cavern. In Transcend, the shipyard was removed because of docking issues, and replaced by a jumpgate connecting to special sectors which in XFP are not as accessable as I feel they should be. Probably/possibly next XFP release will follow Transcend moonbase configuration.borralho wrote:so this version of the moon base isn't the same that was supossed to be in the Xperiment Community Mod, right? and what are those unknown objects one in sector mech 2 and the other inside the moon base? that when you target them they show some pictures.
2. Those unknow objects which you mention with video are special custom billboards displaying important clues for finding your way through some of the otherwise difficult to find "secrets" in Transcend (and also XFP).

Those models are sitting on my bulging, overloaded project shelves collecting dust along with literally hundreds of other completed, half completed, discarded, and other various stages of condition. Some of these have been put aside in leu of other priorities, some may make it into release at some point, some only in my personal game, others will likely never see the light of day.Realspace wrote:Just curious..what happend to the other models you made??? I saw some old pic in the moonbase thread, like the one with mountains and seas (and a Titan docked on land). Probably just a bit too smal but, ehy, that was a real landable planet in X3!!!

Hi Realspace, good to hear from you. The fact is I've been completely swamped with RL job demands - so haven't much time for Transcend II lately. Also, in my usual manner, I find myself being distracted juggling multiple X3 projects; including new tutorials I'm working on, participation in various mod activities, etc, etc, etc. Much of what I'm doing will eventually benefit Transcend II, so there is no real lose other than delay.Realspace wrote:Hi Observe, just curious about the Transcend II. Is it near to release? No hurry, just to know...![]()
Thanks for asking! By the way, I continue keeping an eye on your modeling activities, and am please with what I see.
