9) How ship pathing works now? Is there any sense of making fighter squadrons or they are suicide-junk as in vanilla (crashing into each other and most likely into anything)?
1. Don't think so.
2. You can turn the repair laser on by choosing easy difficulty OR use custom and just turn the laser on. Otherwise i think its just ship yards(i personally use marine repairs mod, doesn't help much in the beginning, but once you get a TM or Carrier, with marines they do the repairs for you on the ship itself, and docked ships. (TMs are pretty cheap and so are untrained marines, so i guess you could go this option early).
3. I don't think the game starts are currently "balanced". There are no plot quests in 1.2a(will be in 2.0).
4. I think you will start to see more quests as you rank up.
5. Dunno, i like to explore the universe myself without guides so have not looked for one myself.
6. Yes there board able(they also bail), and yes there reverse-enginerable.
7. Sadly the complex construction is the same as vanilla(they added new factories and all that kinda stuff, but the complex network itself is the same).
8. There are NO plots in XTC 1.2a at all*not even the TC ones*. I believe they will put there own plots and quests in in 2.0.
9. This im not to sure about on default. I believe there is still a crash fest without the bounce mod. The bounce mod does alot to help mass fighters/drones to live through a fight.

Ahrrg, none of my custom gamestarts for XTC have missions. Anyone take a guess?

Few small questions

1) Why is it that some of the gates in sectors lead nowhere i.e. Twin Paradox has 4 gates, of which 3 lead to Twin Paradox.

2) How do I increase my rank with the Aldrins, Terrans etc, seems no matter what I do nothing happens i.e. I took out 12 Xenon ships in an Aldrin sector and I was expecting some rep gain, in the end up the Aldrins attacked me, had to destroy a few of their ships before I could make it through the gate to get away, lost even more rep.

3) Do any other scripts work with this mod ?

Yes! I found your silly hardcoded mission gamestart check and "fixed" it. Now I feel awesome.


1. They're where the universe expands.
2. Solara isn't really that happy... at the moment they have no stations except a military base and a shipyard, and just some freighters and a large military. I expect one day they'll become more interactive. I've had trouble gaining rep with them too. I think it's impossible.
For Terrans, they're just like any other race now, which is cool. I took a Convoy mission which spawned Ps and Ls in their space and got me loads of rep. (And a bailed P, YEAAAH)
3. Some scripts will function, it depends on if they have ships, wares, sectors etc. hardcoded into them. Obviously some will function fine, some will be pointless or will cause a bit of an issue, and most will just outright not work.

Over time the universe expands. It ends up nice and large and is a real break from the old universe too, all the races sectors are in a clump each.

Or similar, IIRC.


Anyway, keep a look on the GNS for articles about how a new gate is open. Then you'll fly through it and there'll be a new sector, empty to start with, and TLs will ship in the factories.

I sure the Teladi Depot can colur-spray your ships (haven't played anyother race yet).
So you don't need to have a HQ (Although it doesn't dock Cap ships for fighters and M6 only)

Is it possible to change/remove the custom engine trails? I like some of them, but the trails on capitals don't make much sense. A ship going 50 mps shouldn't have an engine trail half the length of the ship itself, no matter how much mass it has. I like the mod enough to run it anyway, it's just a slight annoyance I'd like to address if possible.

Well, you can install without trails, IIRC. To be honest, I like the Argon capital trails half the length of the ship, because it's not really the trail, but the flare of the engine, looks awesome.

You can also edit the effect to 0 back to the default. I did that with my Taipan and its actually flyable now thanks to the massive glow being gone.

hey, just how much can you do in the current Version? i feel i may wasted all my time building up my credits to earn a big ship an begin constructing an econemy. cause i havent even encountered any pirate sectors except just 1 and i seen no Xenon sectors attall. i havent encounted the split, taladi or the paranids yet. an im starting to worry... the universe is expanding but only with argon, terran, aldrin and boron. so whats going on?? is it even worth playing the game for the long run?

cause i been playing for days worth now an nothing new is happening.

in it's configuration you can set how fast/slow the XTC-verse opens up (yes there are more then 1 pirate sector, and multiple Xenon ones) :wink:

Hey,

I ended up getting it working when I re-installed with the 3.1.1 patch... I must've missed installing it somehow lol, as I'd already downloaded it...

Now i'm wondering how I go about shipping goods between my various complexes without having to constantly juggle money between them. I know you could do this in X2 using some software (Bought it from the Paranid iirc) How do you do this in Xtended TC? I see in the statistics centre that is lists "Commercial Agents", "Commodity Logistics", and "Economy Supply Traders" as Trader Types. Which of these do I need and how do I set it up?

And the dark side usually leads to unwillingness over releasing anything at all. Definitely looking forward to 2.0's release (a lot :roll: ) so keep up the good work, I'm sure all the effort on this next version will pay off!
