Does it happen in other race sectors? Does it crash on some specificship/station when you hover over it? Does it happen all the time or randomly when browsing the list?Arghy wrote:Just had a freeze like 13 minutes into a new game while browsing the ship selection at the terran shipyards at new hamshire.

The bug has been reproduced by us and has appeared since beta 2 somehow. Tracking the cause down now and we will release a fix ASAP.jeroll3d wrote:Here is freezing in Terran and Argon sectors, (Shipyard).

Not yet done. We have had a lot of modelling work to do for 2.0 that has held up ship models.dougeye wrote:So i was wondering.....
ships that are not yet available, are they not finished or are they being held back for the plots in v2.0?
Not saying anything else about that atm.

Shipyard wasent in visual range yet i was remote scanning it on the map and it only happened once i started scrolling through the ship lists. I had just jumped through and was prolly 5km away from the gate from the terran starting sector when it happened.X2-Eliah wrote:Does it happen in other race sectors? Shipyard bug found and fixed. Here is a hot fix for it. Just extract the zip file to your main TC folder.
I'll update the main installers to correct this error later today.
Hotfix: *Link removed. See Below*

I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

Haven't been able to reproduce this yet. There was a crash caused by bailing in 1.1, but after changing the scripts none of our testers reported it again and we haven't been able to make it crash either.plynak wrote:Hmm, how about the combat crash? Or am I the only one experiencing it so far?
Unless another mod user has this problem as well, all I can think of is that it is a special bug we made just for you.

Site works fine (well, kinda slow) here. Lately a huge number of bot & spider IP addresses have been banned from the site, maybe your IP was among those.
You can get the mod v1.2 from ModDB page, the files have uploaded there finally
And you can use this hotfix for the 1.2 shipyard-crash problem, the direct link should work, I think.

OK thanks for the patch Aragon Speed. You guys are working like crazy getting this to us and I hope the frustration of the players doesn't diminish your motivation. Maybe we mod users could demonstrate a little more patience at times.

1. Did you even try to do a new install to C drive instead of D drive?
2. ALSO If Mars is still installed on your D drive game files and by just turning the settings to off those files would still be in your game files to conflict with it becuase it is still there, if that is the problem.
Aragon Speed, to better highlight plynak combat crashes,
1. can you clarify if the game would have problems running of the D drive?
2. Knowing that MARS is not a known capatible script "TESTED", would 2.0 be having that MARS commands added into it since many people apparently use it?
Oh the fun of restarting x3tc all over again!

1 - No, the game should work on the D drive. It should also work on the default, C drive, but ONLY if the user privileges are set properly so Vista/7 doesn't block stuff from installing & working. There are many other ways to screw up installation, to be blunt, so install location is just one factor.mangar wrote: Aragon Speed, to better highlight plynak combat crashes,

2 - No, mars is a third party script and that's that. Whoever wants commands for it, can make them, whoever wants to test compatibility for it, can do that too.

Thanks, I guess plynak now has his answers, he will have to do a new install without MARS, see if it works, then if it does not crash then it is MARS that causes the combat crash, IF it still crashes he will have to look at other things like OS, folder location and set up.X2-Eliah wrote:1 - No, the game should work on the D drive. AND if MARS is popular enough I am sure a 3rd party scripter will rework a new compatible MARS to work with XTC later on.

Thanks, I will skip XTM for now and wait for 2.0. I think if we ask Gazz politely, he will make the necessary changes for MARS to work with XTM. As I mentioned, I would not play any X game without MARS anymore. Still find it strange I am the only one using XTM with MARS though. Are you people really changing weapons manually?mangar wrote:Thanks, I guess plynak now has his answers, he will have to do a new install without MARS, see if it works, then if it does not crash then it is MARS that causes the combat crash, IF it still crashes he will have to look at other things like OS, folder location and set up.X2-Eliah wrote:1 - No, the game should work on the D drive. EDIT:
O.K. Decided to make a test after all. Removed all MARS scripts, and the game still crashes in combat. The strange thing that in most cases, I can get back as Win 7 shows the screen program stopped to work, looking for sollution. After this, when it happens again, the game does not crash, just freezes for a moment and then continues. I just hope I am not the unlucky one and someone else will report a similar problem.
