the 1 package will be the built in manager scripts that are used to connect the manager to the game.
it doesn't display on the package list, only in the about screen.
have u tryed running the game directly from that directory, ie, goto run, and type in C:\Program Files (x86)\EGOSOFT\X3 Terran Conflict
then find the x3tc.exe and run it manually, and see if that allows it to work.
also starting in a new custom game might help to test.
when u install a script, u can also go into that directory and make sure the files are actually there.
what operating system are you using ?
in 7 and vista, sometimes it doesn't give the manager proper access to the directory, instead its a tempoary one, the manager thinks its writing the files to the correct place, but windows diverts it elsewhere, this could be whats happening.
have you tryed running the manager in admin mode ?
as in vista and 7 program files is locked to admin users only.
another solution could be to copy, or install the game elsewhere, thats not in a protected folder.
c:\users\public\games is usually a good place

I'll see about running the exe through the main file.
Also tried several times to do a custom game start.
I am using win7 64-bit ultimate edition.
Though this is the first instance this has ever happening to me ever. As I stated before everything was running fine until I scrapped my list of plugins and then put the directory back.
I'll try again though as I'm doing a fresh install of the game and then the manager
Edit: nothing so far, I'm gonna try making it so that the manager is running as Admin... *crosses fingers to hope to works*
Right... figured it out... though... I have to manually go into the manager and press file and install the SPK packs through that method. I no longer for some reason can install them by just double clicking them when the manager isn't open that installs them to the non-admined which is wierd

I am having problems using this with the Apricot Merge mod. At one point it would install new ships properly and I could use them. Now it is generating its own mod file. Is there a way to get the manager to stop doing this and add ships the way it used to (whatever way that was)? I've noticed that there is a mod selector in the drop box but it always says no mods were found. Am I doing something wrong here or does it not work yet? I am driving myself insane trying to figure this stuff out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been having trouble installing the x plugin manager. I have X3TC and I just want to download Cmod3, which requires the plugin manager. However, when I install the plugin manager, it is unable to find the directory. When I lead it there, it says that it can't find the .exe. What might cause this? How can I fix it? I have the steam version of X3TC and steam recently got a makeover, is it possible that when this happened the directory moved? Would this stop it from detecting the .exe no matter where I put it? Please help.
The directory is currently C:\ProgramFiles\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\x3 terran conflict

I just copied the location from memory. I'm on a different computer now, so I don't know the exact phrasing, but that's the general idea.
When I found it, the file was X3TC.exe, all caps if that helps.
What do you mean by "run the directory"? I probably haven't done that.
I'm pretty sure that there's only one steam directory on my computer, but I'm on a different computer right now as I mentioned above, so I'll have to check.

Runtime error
AutoUpdater_old.exe
R6034
having said that after clicking ok the update proceeded
This was the old Beta, The auto updater by the looks of it downlaoded the new Beta (or so it looked through the fast path name given while updating soz it was too fast)
but installed V1.20 RC1, still points at V2.5 of X3TC which is 2.7 Beta 4 (I would have thought it say 2.6) anyway, I shall install a mod or 2 tomo.
Thanks for the updates

I've been trying to extract xsp files with the explorer, but every time i do i don't get any tship files only get the model files, i'm trying to balance some ships for my game, any help would be appreciated.
And i don't want to do it from the tship created by the manager since it gets reset every time it's started up.
Thanks Makita

the explorer wont extract those kinds of files, as they dont actually exist.
they are created by the plugin manager on the fly.
so theres basically nothing for them to extract.
Lordmuck, when you say the old beta, do you mane the 1.10 beta ?
some of the older versions did have problems with the autoupdate, so that could have been the problem.
the version its detecting could be due to the 2.7 beta, it had simlar problems with the 2.6, as the betas didn't update thier versions properly, and still listed the version as 2.5 in the text files, althou i will check it out just incase its displaying it wrong

Sorry if this has been posted before. >.<
Bare with me. I know this will be my first post count but I've been lurking for a while now.
Anyways, I downloaded the plugin manager and it ran perfectly.
Only problem, I can't get it to work on any other computer that can actually run the game. ._.
I installed it on one of my older pc's and now that I've moved to something, much, much better, I can't seem to run the manager.
Everytime I do, it comes up with a message saying: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000135). Click okay to terminate the application"
Help plox? D;

First off I am very pleased with all your efforts Cycrow. I am gladdy to see things turn around for you and your work!
I have been away for a while (FAR TOO LONG)! I am getting back into the swing of scripting again.
I have not played with or used you SPK packager too much in the past. Now I have a greater need for it now!
What I would like is some information or ideas about automatic updating of created packages. I am not too sure how, or weather the Packager is able to update the files in the SPK.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks in advance
