couldn't use my joystick before I installed 1.2, Thanks to the beta testers & Ego.

alkasteveh wrote:Only flaw I've found so far (minor picky one mind) is with the tooltips after you've been in a station. You end up with a small black bar at the bottom of the screen (with a bit of the tooltip you last had) and stays there. It makes clicking on the buttons when you're in a station a tad tricky as well as you can't see which one is which so clearly.
Other than that - got to the end of mission 3 without any problems. Quite pleased how the AI fight a lot better, only had 1 incident when I flew into a bad guy but that was my fault rather than the way they fight.
Quick note about that 3rd mission

You get a message to press J to activate the jump-drive when it's actually Shift and J (ok, it's in the manual, but it got confusing for a second) - and for those that don't know it should really tell them to go and buy some energy cells first. They're quite important

actually if u look at it its a capitol J and not a lowercase j
anything in uppercase means its used with shift
Yup, very useful post, my system specs match yours exactly. I had been holding off installing (even unwrapping) the game until I knew my system could give me acceptable gameplay and this has put my mind at rest. Cannot wait to get out of work
I'm glad to hear everything is working fine now. I can't wait to get my copy on Saturday. Although I'm getting the Call of Duty 2 Collector's Edition today so that should keep me occupied unitl then.
Iv'e got to be honest I came to the forums last night and decided not to buy X-3 yet because of what a lot of you were reporting about it -however in just a few minutes the news of this patch being released and what you guys are now saying has totally turned my views around again.
I can't believe Egosoft have got a patch ready for release day, that is really really good customer service -I'm impressed.
Mine arrived this morning, so my first game experience was V1.2.
what can i say, 1 word..... WOW
Running on a P4 3G - 2Gig corsair pc3200 - and my trusty ATI 9800 PRO = Silk, just like X2. Graphics are stunning tbh. Voice overs seem waaaaaaay better than X2. LOVE The lack of cockpits. LOVE X3.
The_Judge wrote:The game is also perfectly fine running on my Gigabyte 6600GT 128MB SilentPipe....this isn't the most expensive card in the world (I bought it for about £120 ($220) back in February 2005 this year and now it is about £110, and it runs perfectly at resolution 1024 x 768 and with Shader and Texture detail set to High (maximum).
Wow, thanks! Besides the actual 1.2 release, this is the best news I've heard today.
In that case it's indeed a good job with the patch.

Meanwhile, blood from whips in the developer cubicles are starting to dry up on the office floors, while an Evil PR Guy calmly claims they're always looking to please their fans...
Funny things still in there though. Suzy's still on the runaround.

looking at details of my Discoverer and the computer lady tells me about it having 2 lasers while I'm looking at 6 of them. I guess they just havent updated all the old sound files.
So far very well liking it though despite a bit of chop in the combat sim.
Yesterday I was really narked especially after spending my day off trying to get X3 working. X3 was reminding me of Frontier with the constant crashing ect.
I managed to get the patch this morning before work and had to have a little go
Now X3 is running almost as well as X2 was (just a few stutters when Argon 1 was on a flyby).
One of my students was arriving as I was a little late and we had to laugh because we both said at the same time "So you had to try the patch too"
So, sorry about yesterday I was wrong and for that I do appologise.

I heard in German Forums, that most of the NVIDIA-cardusers have problems. Ati/radeon not that mutch. But that was before the patch, does it run now on the NVIDIA systems, too? (I have a 9800 Pro now and want to buy a 6800LE, 'cause of that I want to know, if it will be a clever option?!)
I have an "nVidia 6800 GT" & I have had no graphical errors at all!
