In case helpful in the future, clues about getting a station to auto-extend may be available in the vanilla code for the NPC CV-built stations during plot games (link to a save with them built to help find them in save file by looking for the crew) and in the built-station mod (link). IIRC, the NPC CVs extended their new stations at least once but not all the way. Not sure about the mod.mihaib wrote: It's an interesting idea to have the architect completely build the station according to a sequence chosen by the player, but I have no idea if it's possible.
Also, creating menus and submenus and any other UI work is something that I still have to learn about.
In any case, it's something to consider for future versions of the mod.

There's a mod the cut out the looking for crews and specialist by autour apostilite call Introducing Baely the time saver link http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=382304 this mod have a sub menus where you can hire crews that auto assign to ships auto clam and place a any of the specialist in the skunks back room all with costs may be a chat with autour apostilite you can get the info about the sub menus or work together.

Thanks, I'll keep those links and references in mind. I'm sure they'll be very useful.
For now I still have to fix the architect, and modify the UI to list the engineer under the station hiring list.
I did manage to add an upkeep mission for stations that require an engineer being assigned to the station, just like they require managers and specialists
