Just trying to figure out how best to have things activate: radial menu is working (but potential for too many future conflicts) ... so looking into if a clickable cockpit is viable

Man, you're going all out! I thought about something that just plays continually in the background but you've got variation based on distance and such. This is really going to increase immersion. Can't wait.
Do you have any version now that can just run continually? As an interim? Not sure how your modding it so I don't know if that's practical

it could either get boring or busy, but yeah some aspect of this is good as a audio cue for good targets for boarding. So the comms should not be a repeatative loop of wave file played endlessly. more like if a ship is within 4k Example: trader: Ahhh Plutarch Captical Shipline1, I have a good load of 1400 biooptics, I need to find a good docking port to unload it at, over...Station: yes trader idDF453 the station manager was expecting you, we have several traders on wait for a open spot, please take a holding pattern, the wait time is... 15 minutes, please note pirates have been spotted in system. trader: Rodger that, standing by.

The one I liked, and mentioned in the OP was "evochron mercenary"...there was always background communication between ships but was not specific "tower archangel proceeding to dock one five two granted clearance...roger clearance received"...and so on. It was contstant but made you feel like you were in a busy space area. You didn't have to specifically try to communicate with a particular ship. No functionality, just window dressing

It'd be easy enough to loop the radio chatter from one of the skunks less important sound nodes like the back console (just replace the random sounds with the large wav in this thread)
But I have that node reserved for responsive ship sounds (primarily ship stress noises based on momentum change eg yer ship creeks if you pull high Gs -- maybe temperature differentials too, but I'll see how tricky that is).
It'll be a while, but I really want to overhaul the sounds in this game to make it much more immersive/responsive.

For the chatter, its quite nice i must say, but i would prefer it to be generated by objects like ships or stations, hopfully with some mods and/or patches ther will be some stations, ships or scavangable derbis to find ant that chatter would be very nice then
