XU Forum Quest - Round 1 - [Finished]

I tjink I'm gonna go for the "Lucky Loser" title; I didn't really play X3TC - played trough the plot and that's all (unlike X3R and X2 which I still play) and lost my savegames, so - I don't really know what is where in the game. But still

ok, since I haven't played xtc for quite some time and i never won any top prizes anyway, I'll answer randomly and shot straight for lucky loser

3/7 is the closest to 42%, does it mean it's 7 round, and 14 weeks to go for x rebirth release? that means 11/21, right before thanksgiving?

14 weeks won't lead you to next year and the game is supposed to be released in 2012.

But you have played X3TC. I call that and raise with a copy of X3TC that is still in shrink-wrap, somewhere. No footage seen by me so far.

By that logic:

7/(16+(2/3) -> 33.333... weeks, or;
21/50 -> 100 weeks, or;
42/100 -> 200 weeks.
It's all closer to 42 than 3/7th

.

I'll go with the theory that 42 is the answer to life and such.

actually, going by the 33.333... weeks, I'll bet Thursday (as its always on a Thursday apparantly) the 5th of April.

no, your number simply isn't realistic
first, 33.3333, are you drunk, you think there'll be some 1.333 week round?lol..
second, 21/42 are exact 42%, yes, however ,there's just NOWAY this contest will last 100 or 200 weeks, just no way.

however, i could see it be 6/14, that's also possible, but it's just my wishful thinking egosoft could release it this holiday season, not next year

No, I figure they start a round 1.333... weeks before releasing and then figuring "hey we released, we can end this contest"

As far as I know, 42 is The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. It probably works for X universe too

The winner receives a signed copy of X Rebirth and Steam X-Superbox
2nd place gets a steam copy of both X Rebirth and X-Superbox
3rd place gets Steam X-Superbox
The Lucky Loser will also receive a steam copy of X Rebirth

The lucky Loser will get a better price than 3rd place. To participate, and especially (probably) win this competition, you'd need at least TC, possibily other games as well. The Superbox (unless it will contain Rebirth, but considering 2nd place, I doubt it), loses most of it's value if you already own TC and all if you already own the superbox. I'm sure there are plenty contestants who already have the Superbox and would prefer Rebirth instead.

Why wouldn't 3rd place just get rebirth, it's less than 2nd place and on same par with lucky loser, who receive it's game on chance, whereas 3rd place gets it on skill?

read somewhere steam are planing to make it so you can trade in unplayed gifted games so you may be able to put it towards somthing else

I seriously honestly absolutely missed this event by about a mere 3 damn hours. I feel like someone just slapped me several times with a CPU ship, REALLY hard...
(I like Xenon, but I'm not masochistic)
Meh... and unless there are like 10 more rounds or rounds with more questions to go, which is an unlikely event to happen due to the given release date, I guess everyone joining in now is doomed except for the lucky loser...

Anyway this round is "Finisched" already, as strange as that probably mixed up german/english word sounds.

Those first two were pretty tough. I don't play the game enough to know those. Granted, I don't play enough to know the third but a little research goes a long way. It's hard to research pictures though
