You will still be able to set it manually using an external program. I can't remember the name but it was linked in the Tech forum somewhere. It is true that some people actually enjoyed some performance increase with no side effects on their system, but many had problems such as ~1 FPS when looking at some objects. This is what this change will fix.

I'm not sure, but most of it I'm guessing as the loading times between sectors and all is hardly noticible.

Ah. Thanks. I'm going to go search for that and bookmark it. It won't result in a modified game will it?

If you're having problems with that system then you should probably post some kind of tech support thread. My PC isn't that good and only has issues running on max settings with big in-sector combat.

Your Frames Per Second will be higher. The slowdown got progressively worse the longer you played the game, so people with relatively short game ages will probably see no difference. On the other end of the scale, the savegame which I was testing went from 5 FPS to 40 FPS!
:D :D :D !!! This is super good news. I can't wait.

On the other hand, does anyone know how will the 2GB ram limit manifest itself? e.g. Slower loading times, or reduced FPS in certain situations? I'll probably experiment with the settings, but it'd be good to know what to expect.

it means scripts can add articles into the encyclopedia under serveral new news categories

Page 50 of the manual states, "You can also make marines out of slaves but they will have to spend some time at a Rehabilitation Facility before you can send them to boot camp." I think this is the rationale behind the name change. I always thought of the "Training" Centers as facilities based on movies like Universal Soldier so I'm happy with the name change.

Despite what the manual implies, we can't sell the slaves to them directly but we can sell to Pirate stations. Since the OP doesn't mention a change to this part, I'll continue to imagine that the pirates sort the slaves and sell them to Rehab or Pleasure Centers according to where each will perform best.

Hello

I am interested into testing the next update but i don't understand...

Like you suggest, i registered on DevNet in my profile and gain "User-Level: 3" under my nickname, just under the Log Out option on the site.
After going on the main page, Community link "Developer Network", i am unable to find anything related to the next game update. The News are old, talking about X2. The Developer forum link on that page sent me on a forum where i can't see anything related to testing or downloading this RC version of the next patch to test about Terran Conflict 2.5

Can you explain to me where is located this download to test or if i am doing anything wrong ?

I've actually started a game with the 2.5 Release Candidate and successfully completed several Asteroid Scan missions. I may have fixed it a while ago and just can't remember :gruebel:

Unfortunately, it didn't happen to everyone. If you search the forums (tech support and the beta forum), you will find reports of the scan asteroid missions failing when you scan the last asteroid.

Will we be able tu buy the Orbital Weapons Platforms for Sector/Gate/Station defence purposes?

Lasertowers are fine I think, but the OWPs pack quite a punch which sometimes can be quite useful...

it was called mercenary because mercenarys were the product of the stations.

these basically turn slaves into mercenarys which can be used as marines for boarding
