OK

Please tell me I'm doing something wrong here

I have installed the ships via the PM and have activated them. However. When I go to a shipyard and view their stats I just get the old models details. :( I tried looking at a Centaur in Omicron Lyrae and Argon Prime and both listed the old model. I even tried buying one and still nothing was different.

Was I supposed to start a new game? Please tell me I do not have to start a new game!

Never mind. I sorted it now thanks to Cycrow. Did'nt realise I had to have the PM selected in the mod selection part of the launcher, if I had new ships added to the game.

All is well again.

You need to install them via Cycrows Plugin Manager. Oh and dont forget to activate them before you start the game! (I made that mistake ) Also make sure the PM is selected in the "Mod selection" button on the game launcher.

Re: M6 mini Mod

parameter wrote:Hi, from what I have read it sounds like a great mod. Some of us Mac types can get at the contents of most Mod's for manual placement but these new '.xsp' files etc! are a real pain in the proverbial! We do not have access to installers, not even Cycrow's unless we install Windows on our Mac's. I will be doing that soon as the new Vista iteration matures and X4 has been released

Anyway, any help with unpacked but 'zip'ped files would be most appreciated.
:)
Right this took months because real life swooped in on me like a fleet of souped up M6s and started to frag all my spare time.

The extracted XSP files neatly sorted in a directory per ship. Again I emphasise that I have no clue as to how to implement these rogue text files.

On a more general note, the M6 variants are on hold for the next while. I don't have the time to go fiddle with the numbers and test it all at the moment.

I've made some minor tweaks to the Nemesis, Osprey and Dragon. Which are all noted in the first post of this thread.

I've been looking at the various variants of the M6 ships, and in the ship editor they all seem to have the same stats. So I'm still trying to figure out which variants to make out of them as it'd be pointless to have a Vanguard, Sentinel and Raider which all have the same stats.
I'm very much open to suggestions here.

This is a great set of changes and I'm glad to see you're still supporting it! I have a request... Would you be willing to post an alternate version of the mod? Everything would be the same, but the speed would be cut to 10-20% over base instead of the roughly 40% it's at right now?

I suppose I could find a few minutes to do that. It's really easily done in the Ship Creator from Cycrow, so feel free to open the XSP files in the Ship Creator and adjust the numbers.
At the moment I'm trying to sort out my other little project for X3, which is a Freightdrone.

Edit: Ps. how about you post a list of the speeds you had in mind, makes it easier for me to adjust the numbers. Think of it as a help me help you kind of deal :p

The server park in which this mod is hosted is undergoing upgrades. It's estimated that it'll take about a week to get everything 100% up and running again.

The issue you're experiencing now is merely a DNS issue. If all goes well DNS record should be replicated on their own within a few hours. But no guarantees there.

Hello all :) As an old x- RN (destroyers) matelot. I'd like to say that the mods spoken of are pretty right from what I've read here today. I havent seen them in fact as the link is still down. The M6 is a corvettte and translates to the modern frigate a light destroyer. Like the pocket battleship of WW2 it is lighter and faster than its bigger brother but has the same armourment and shielding. On man, manouv, turning the frigate has a better rate than big brother due to its lighter frame. On accelleration and stopping etc the two are very similar. A destroyer I served on with the use of variable pitch propellors could go from full forward 42 knotts to full reverse in 1 1/2 times the ships length and with twin screws this could also tighten the turning circle. We all got thrown around a fair bit and meal times could be fun but it worked
Is there an ETA on this link being available again btw ?

We're still having some minor DNS issues, it should all be up and running now. I just tried it and the link works fine for me.

You might need to get WinRAR to unpack the RAR file. I can't put it in another file type due to restrictions on the server.
Once you've unpacked the RAR you'll need Cycrow's Plugin Manager to install the XSP files into X3.

Hi Merg's, Got win rar on trial.
I activated all your ships etc , but I don't think its happenning . If I say to you . centaur with top speed of 104 and turrets l,r,b have I got it ?
I also notice that cig's cannot be used on any M6.
I must admit I'm a complete dullard when it comes to all this sort of stuff . Give me a circuit diagram and a pcb and I'm fine lol

Have you selected the PluginManager Mod Package in the launcher? Also in an existing game the stats will only update for new ships. The easiest way to see if you've successfully installed it is to fly to Argon Prime and check the shipyard.

CIGs were never available to M6s in X3.

Yes ,got plug in manager selected, went and bought a centaur and that was the stats it had.

As far as the cig's go it was just an observation. I've found them to be a goodfun long range weapon. How to make your enemies do summersaults lol

Strange. Though what sometimes helps for me with seemingly random things like that is to make a save game and then reload that same save game.

Like you install the mod, then load your game, fly to another station, save your game, go to main menu then load the save you've just made.

Got it running but only by physicly starting the game directly through plug in manager (no plugs). Centaur is awesome especially with a pandora tune & turn, and the flak makes up for no cig.
Had a great time doing bala gi mission with it. Did the Xenon sector and just cruised it.
Only prob now is my system has started locking up when I jump or use gates. It doesn't happen all the time but it is annoying.
My new M7 is a cracker shame about the boring weapons though.

I was thinking about TS mods the other day. I wish I could do some of this revamping. I'd like to do a TL shaped like Thunderbird 2 LOL

thanks again and keep up the good work

Oh this revamping is rather easy. All I did was take the tools Cycrow made and alter some numbers in them and maybe click a tickbox or two.

I haven't experienced the crashes you describe myself with the M6 mod. The only time it really occurs for me is when I'm accidentally in a Freightdrone.
If you use the Freightdrone mod it might be a good idea to disable that and see if the crash still occurs.
