check your message-log / personal messages for a "wrong libraries" message - if so, reinstall libraries and EST.
I'll check if I have any old links in EST-Thread
EDIT linked to new version (since it survived 2 weeks without further update, its more stable)
further hint: I noticed that it is often better for problems to get a complete release from here

and install the scripts your interested in

I'm having trouble turning on the Trade MK3 software. It always says "not available". I bought a Baldric and a Mercury super freighter and set them up with all the required equipment, and they start working when i click start EST, but i cant get the mk3 part to even acknowledge that its there.
I try clicking "Trade command software MK3 (not available)" in the EST settings but it does not ever change to enabled or disabled. I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong. Ive even installed a fresh copy of TC and made sure i have the latest files but still no luck. I let the traders run until they gained "master dealer" rank but still cant turn it on. Has anyone got any ideas why i cant activate it?

@mad ashy
if a Mk3-trader - there is probably nothing there to trade
if no Mk3-trader - you probably set no ware / unavailable ware / too small a jump range
if none of this cases, prove it by posting a log

maybe you should buy it first - it says "not available". if you have Mk3 and it does not show - post a log"Trade command software MK3 (not available)"

Oh I see i thaught the default settings would of got the trade command working but when I set ware and click ok im sent to pick ware again i cant get the set ware to ok then go to the main menu it only goes back to ware choice again and if I click back it cancels the ware ive chosen.
Got it working:) great mod all I needed to do was close the menu with my mouse rather then using the back button on the joystick

I am having a really odd problem:
Game version 1.3, script version 3.1.01 with up to date libraries.
I outfitted 3 mistral freighters. They have various software, but specifically, all three of them have Trade Command Software 1, 2, and 3. All three have Fight 1 and 2, and all three have Navigation Command Software Mk1.
And on all three of them, the option to Start EST is visible but greyed out, so I cannot start EST on any of them.
For what it's worth, I have 9 other ships of varying make and model all running EST right now with no problems.

Add Ware is failing...
Just downloaded the script and the "add ware" function is failing...
I am able to select wares, but the script appears unable to save the entries in the list.
Best Regards...
EST v3.1.02
X3TC v1.3 (Steam)
Trader Level: Economist
Mercury TS
Navigation Command Software MK1
Trade Command Software MK1
Trade Command Software MK2
... and much more!

This looks like a great script, sounds like its gonna do to TM3 what TM3 did to TM1/2, hope i'm right on that front.........
One thing i have noticed is the lack of SPK
, and since i only install SPK's now (had probs keeping track of scripts before i first found it
) i've packed it for my own use, its not pretty or anything like most SPK's i see, but it seems to work.
...
anyhow, back to my point, since i've packed it into an SPK, i thought i'd upload a copy for others who like to use the SPK method to save them a bit of time, both EST and the Libraries can be found at the following url.... http://cid-d8e7ed0af186cd41.skydrive.li ... .aspx/X3TC
one thing i will say about both files is that i wont be updating them often (if ever), i have a really nasty habbit of not updating scripts unless i encounter a problem
, so the EST SPK will stay at v3.1.01 and the libraries SPK at whatever version they are at as i write this, but that shouldn't be a big problem as they seem stable going of the age of this version.
Also, i'm sorry to admit i havn't asked permission to do this
, but as i'm not modifying anything, just re-packing it into an SPK, i'm sure its not going to be a problem, but if anyone involved in making the script pack's has a problem with the SPK's then just let me know and i'll remove them both asap (or if you want me to change something cus i got it wrong (like i said, its not pretty but it works fine for me with what little i've done with it so far, so i'm assuming it will all work)).

I've noticed a few times that my EST traders will be overly enthusiastic about buying a ware and forget to allow room for jump fuel. I have two of them set to buy ore. When I catch them, it's usually because they're trying to fly sector by sector, sometimes through enemy sectors, to get back to home base. I'm guessing it only happens when they jump a long distance from home (running low on fuel), and buy the ware before buying energy cells.
Is there any way to remedy this?

Set your traders to carry more energy in the Jump Drive options menu - my Mistral Super Freighters carry 1400 energy or so, which is more than the normal 10% of current max cargo bay.. I don't expand my EST's cargo to maximum if they're in a Super Freighter - it's rare they get close to full and that's a million or two that I can spend fitting out the next EST.

Hi,
thanks for this nice mod !
I'm a beginer in X3 and EST mod and i got some questions about it :
I'm using EST on my mercure equipped with MK3, i've noticed that i have a pliot even with my mk3 installed, his rank is increasing with the time but i also pay him a salary, i that normal ? Mk3 + EST "only" permits to have automatic settings and i do still need a pilot to pay ?
Could you explain me what's "payment roll" and "achievements" in the trader settings ? ( well for achivement i thinks that's all the money my ship/pilot won in total...)
Last one
My mercure MK3 + EST has jump engine enable ( i set 100 cells, 6 jump range area and minijump range at 1) but it doesn't jump ! cell quantity remains at 40 and when i'm tracking it, it's flying sector to sector.
Does it need a more qualified pilot even with my MK3 installed ? ( pilot of my mk3 ship is "courier" for the moment)
well, well, if you can help me

EST and MK3 only automates the pilot's orders - there's still a pilot flying the ship. EST makes so much profit that I don't notice the pilot's wages unless it's decided to buy 20 HEPTS at the beginning of the game.. and sits in the equipment dock telling me it can't draw its salary.
'Achievements' is the total profit the EST pilot has made, while 'payment roll' is the total wages you've paid the EST pilot.
You probably want to increase the energy cells it carries. TS's burn 10 Ecells per jump so your EST can jump 6 sectors before it'll start slowboating; EST's will keep 40 Ecells on board at all times in case it needs to jump away from an attacker, or you need to tell it to jump away. EST's are not able to use the jumpdrive until Trader rank - two ranks above yours so it probably sold off some Ecells so it could have the extra cargo room.

I dont know much about EST atm,
But from what i've seen whilst upgrading all my UT's to EST's, when you put EST onto a TM3 ship it auto configures its trade settings, allowing a new EST to trade any ware, but its trading range is still limited until it levels up,
Changing a higher lvl TM3 into an EST doesn't seem to make any difference to performance of the EST when compared to a virgin TM3, but adding a new TM3 to a partially leveled EST does seem to help.
Bottom line about EST with TM3 from what i can tell, you dont need to tell it what wares to trade as it will trade in all wares from the start, other then that, i dont see much difference.
So once the EST has reached Major Dealer you might be able to swap the TM3 to a new EST to save 500k (but i'm nowhere near that point yet).
The payment roll, etc i think they go as follows....
Payment roll: the cash the pilot has earnt to date as flat rate wage/salary/whatever you wanna call it
Achievements: total combined profits of all his sales
Sales Bonusses: a small percentageof the profits the pilot took/earnt as commission
Expenses: cash spent on upgrades/weapons/fighterdrones/repairs/etc
As for jumping instead of flying, I believe you need to lvl the EST up to "Trader" rank.
Hope i got all that right....
@ 2AM =
so i wouldn't mind confirmation myself that i got it right.
*Edit*
Another good reason not to do this kind of thing at 2AM, you spend sooooo long messing, looking, correcting, etc that someone beats you to the punch, but on the bright side, I got confirmation I'm approx right before I even finish asking for confirmation
