 I don't need Lady Luck to win, I'm just not letting the other fleets have an unfair advantage. :P

Was poking around and saw photoshop.com has free space available for videos, maybe try uploading one there?

Something has come up and I have to go to India for a few days. Doubt I'll have time to get on the internet.

So unfortunately, that means no videos or matches for a few days. :(

When it starts to get really interesting for me - awww. Well, I hope you have a nice trip. And yes, Indian food is awesome - but beware: The natives tend to eat it a little hotter (and I don't mean the temperature!) than you might experience in the average Indian resturant. ;)

Less true in India, more true in Thailand, I believe.

But do consider: India is using a certain pepper native to its country as the main ingredient in military grade teargas grenades. :D

But in both countries it's always possible to avoid hot food.
On my last Thailand trip I needed a lot of antacids (Maalox liquid) ^^, so always good to carry something with you if you like to eat hot. But the hottest I ever had so far was Hot Pot (the dark side of the cooking pot;) )in Shanghai in a restaurant which was famous for it's good hot pot according to my friends. My eyes were like waterfalls and my chinese friends just "smiled". And it's not that I am not used to eat hot. Tobasco and (hot) Sambal Oelek is always available at home ^^. But this Hot Pot was the first dish in my live which I couldn't finish, bcs. it's too hot. After some time I changed voluntarily to the bright sauce.

Where do you get your Sambal Oelek? I use the mild variant from some Chinese store - compared to the stuff they call hot'n'spicy at the local supermarket is like comparing Moscito missles with Hammerheads! One half teaspoon of the Chinese in a pot Chili made for 4 persons is enough for the average European while I can mix a whole glass of the supermarket stuff into my breakfast cereals without going
However, I think it's time to leave the cooking for the kitchen (there is always the Off-Topic for that ;) ) and return to Fleet Fest. I asked a few days ago if anyone else who has run the save experienced that the Centaurs and the Titan were sitting ducks most of the time? I expected the outcome, but not the way it occured. Also the missles seemed to have some strange behavior - circling but not really closing in.

Asia store as well and sometimes I receive "care packages" (incl. Green Tea) from Asian friends :)

Back to Topic:

I have sent Technojerk36 yesterday my cancellation. I have recalled my fleet as I understand it makes no fun to watch such a fight and with todays hardware it's no fun at all. Besides this it's obvious that Spam-Fleets are not welcome, first because of framerate (and I know my one is not the biggest) and second because they would be the winning ones :P
But one spam-fleet less will mean 1 or more matches with acceptable fps and therefore a nice show!

So from my point of view Mutiny is back again with his fleet (I grant him this second chance bcs. he was a fair opponent and I like Boron ships as well) and we have the initially required number of fleets again: 32.

So have fun and I'll may be back for FF2 and will follow up the matches here anyway.

best wishes

Dawww. Sorry you feel that way Le Baron! :( Never to say spam fleets are unwelcome on the basis of them being a cop-out strategy or something silly like that, I say you had a perfectly viable and legal fleet. My money is on a spam fleet as victor anyway :D

However, this does repair my bracket a bit...

Sad to see a participant go :(

... Even though I dislike spam tactics, they are very much a legitimate way to victory - always have been

We will remember this lesson for XFF-II though :)

Sad but true :( (have you tried the savegame?)
Besides this it's obvious that Spam-Fleets are not welcome
I wouldn't say it that harsh. It's probably that some people took a lot of time and thinking about that and some came up thinking: Hey, how many times does that fighter fit into 250mio?
second because they would be the winning ones
Which is still to be proven :P
and we have the initially required number of fleets again: 32.
Only if we start all over again or put wild james back on the roster. If you quit now it means that mutiny is in the next round (got a free ticket if you want to put it like that) and we technically started the actual fighting with only 31 fleets.
Another solution could be that you and all of the other massive ship fleets reconsider one final time with a 245mio limit (seriously, a little handicap would be a must since you guys know against whom you fight and what the others have brought). A withdrawel of competitors is in my opinion the worst possible solution.

We need someone with an ultra super crazy sweet rig to run those big battles and record them with a pvr or another computer to negate fps degradation...

And just what sort of rig would we need in terms of hardware?
