Unless a level 5 dev has leaked info, you know as much as us.
And Ego has not said it won't be another X game, only that the trilogy has come to it's conclusion.
Nor have they said that nothing more will be added to TC.
We have had a new mission and updates since many speculated that TC was finished.

Awesome!
Guild Wars 2 and the new Elder Scrolls will be released in 2011... TNBT hopefully in 2011 or 2012... Depending on my free time, these games could last me 5-10 years. :-D

I'm struggling to follow the logic here. Not only is at least one other thing that day not Star Trek related (the Star Gate thing you mentioned), I don't recall there being a rule that all the things that happen on a particular day have to be related to each other.

Now, while I'll say that I know no more about TNBT than the rest of you, I think the chances of it being Star Trek related are approximately equivalent to my chances of sprouting wings, flying to the Moon, and finding it's actually a giant balloon left there by alien intelligences far beyond our ken... :-)
Heh, that comment makes me remember "Nexus: The Jupiter Incident"
TNBT its not X4 but I really hope its in the X universe

The problem is if it is in the X Universe, then it is indeed X3++ = X4!!!! :?

In other words, what hardware would be best thrown at it?

Specs are one of those tricky things to nail down; it can literally come down to the last couple weeks of production to find out what exactly the game can run on effectively, and what it needs to really hit its stride. So although we could speculate at this point, it wouldn't be much use, as it's all fairly fluid.

But... I will have to sadly inform you that it will not, in fact, run on the dusty Amiga in your attic.
I still remember some save games of Terran Conflict that makes Crysis (and other intensive games) cry in shame...
If it becomes too CPU intensive, PLEASE EgoSoft make it GPU posible.

The reason Egosoft coins the next game TNBT (and Not X4) is - hopefully - because they have addressed the CPU intensive problem in X3TC.

I somehow don't think Egosoft would prank around about their financial future.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

Well all the best on the announcement egosoft! I will be eager to see what you have planned.

On my side, I am preparing for a new site. So I should have a site up within minutes of knowing what's called (I cant call the site tnbt.roguey.co.uk). Unlike my X3/TC site which took me awhile. If anyone cares.
Roguey's Site: X3TC, X3AP, X3FL, X4.

Did I miss something, I thought we were suppose to hear the Big Announcement Thursday, or was it really an April Fool's joke?

Call me a pessimist but am i the only one expecting the announcement to consist of not much more then the reveal of the games title, and maybe a basic teaser trailer that doesn't actually tell you anything about the game at all?

I'd hoped there would be some funky clues in the track, but it just sounds like early Soundgarden.

Anyway this is exciting news! Assuming it isn't just an April Fools prank...

Come on, people. April Fools jokes/pranks aren't pulled on March 28th. That would be stupid.
