So you want quick, cheap targets that are weaker than you at the press of a button?

yay finally it got released and tomorrow i have holidays : D just to bad i cannot download from the torrent for some reasons im not going to explain here... an alternate download link would be nice.

quick and cheap, no. But right now bothering something bigger than M4 is asking for whole world of pain :)

Anyway, you XTC guys are EVIL. Only Evil person would give a player 60 mil worth capital ship with decent equipment and jumpdrive and to make it completely useless in early game (I don't even think about chasing mission spawned M5 with this M7). Early mission don't even give you a chash to buy ECells for a jumpdrive.

Use smaller ship to supply it by dropping the e-cells, you sort it out. Think - that what this game is all about ;)

Hmm ... I'm pretty glad I got a second monitor I can read books on ... so far I've 4 hours on my ingame clock, found one mission, two stations I could dock on, and hundreds of km of travel at 108m/s ... never been as bored in "regular" X3TC. I hope the pace picks up at some point ...

I hope the odd defence station mission will be back, less easy and overpaid of course. i agree with mr.WHO, this defence sector missions are annoying and not worth flying across 2 sectors.

And they are bugged or break if you accept multiple for one sector

The argon start is some kind of special. It's related to the XTC-lore, where you are new in the universe and have to make your way first to the argon sectors. (alternativly you could also try killing yaki in Aldrin-territory ;) )

The other starts seem to start directly in race space.

I disagree - you wanna have enemies spawned directly at the mission giver, without having to fly around first? Come on, be serious, that's absolutly unrealistic to expect that. (And TC is about four game aspects, not only fighting).

Apart from that the payment gets better, once you have sufficient fight rank.

Argon start puts you in the slowest ship (compared to the rest) and puts you in the Solara system..

Split start is a good one for fast action and no excessive freebies, if that's your thing.

Equipment they come with. CQ - convenience package, DX - deluxe version.

No, but you could for example check your galaxy map which should show you how to get to the nearest argon sector where you can actually dock and also do some missions. :)

Im actually really having trouble getting into this, the sectors are massive, already had to SETA to a gate over 100km away... not fun.

Ive only had one mission so far, an assassination.
Fly to contact 3 sectors away - done
Talk to contact - done
Fly back to the starting sector to kill target - not done

The reason i couldn't kill my target? Someone else did as i was trekking back to the start...
It was absolutely pointless..


Not too happy with the starts I've tried so far either - a fully armed and shielded M7 at the start?? Why??

Not forgetting the Elephant with a HQ in its belly...

Just about to try the Boron start.. hopefully this will impress me.

Hey so in the manual it said that if i dident have a police license that i couldent scan ships as the option wouldent be available--i just tried it and got a huge hit to my terran rep.

I also cant seem to find any terran TS class ships for sale, i looked at the only terran shipyard i've found and it only has m7+ ships for sale. I tried docking in the little 'arms' of the shipyard but each arm has the same ships to sell.

I love the mass scan on the m5 but i wish it came with automation! i hate having to drag my frigate around behind me while i scout a sector manually with my m5. The exploration script was a godsend--you would still be forced to explore yourself but atleast you could trigger the command then read the news.

The m7 in the terran start is a mixed blessing seeing as you have a proper ship right off the bat but i'm unsure if you'll be able to buy ammo anytime soon haha. I was contemplating selling the m7 to buy some easier to maintain smaller ships but i cant seem to find any for sale haha.

I want to thank whole team for this release-its what I have been waiting for since X3TC was released and I found its not exactly what I expected:)
On the other hand-you will be responsible for termination of my college studies-I have exams next month, I need to study:D
Thank you again and I am looking forward to see more of xtended universe:)

Found the first Argon sector after being almost blown away by hostile terrans ... the galaxy map isn't that easy to read due to weird gate connections, which are not shown at the start. I wound up in Rhonkar's Dominion before figuring I took a wrong turn and going back.
Still, the statistics:

Flying: 6:02:17
Time saved using SETA: 4:35:49
Missions accepted: 2
Sectors visited: 10
Way travelled: 2505km
Opportunist: 0%
Harmless: 0%

don't really speak for exciting, gripping gameplay. I'm trying to like the mod, but 150km distances between gates, totally empty sectors and a starting speed of 108m/s on the default start (the Argon is the first one and "easy", seems to be the default one) makes that rather hard to do. Not to mention the glaring bug I ran into after 20 minutes.

Congratulations on the release, and thanks for all your hard work!!

I have a few questions:

1. My files 14 dat / cat are empty. Is this supposed to be?

2. You write that the suspension GNS XTC 2.0. Meanwhile, news articles are quite different from the GNS 2.0, whether or not it would be better to call contained in the GNS XTC 3.0?

3. When the ship stats are published?

There is no terran police license. Hardcoded.

Also, the manual states why you can't find any small ships for sale in large shipyards.

Finally, making that command automated would pretty much nullify the exploration aspect. Not gonna happen. We haven't created 199 new sectors for only some automated scout to see them. ;)

1. Yes, reserved for patches.

2. Not sure what you mean. The GNS is the GNS. It contains static and dynamic articles. Not really much of a BBS or something like that anymore.

3. I don't think that's gonna happen from our side. Go, explore! ;)
