Here is a list of resources and their usage rates. If you know the Cycle Time and Primary Resources required, this will let you know you're minimum requirements for the factory to start a production cycle. ( Good to figure out why that factory is flashing YELLOW!)

Nice 1.

I might build on lower yield asteroids now just for the purpose of selling to the NPC stations.
Anything lower than 26 I did not consider but now ....

i have 2 silicon roids in herrons nebula.. one at 26 and one at 6.. they are all full and used in 2 of my crystal fabs.. theres a delay on producing that can be helpful.. i also have some others as cash stores (in places with capital ships) maxed the price of silicon out and have a smaller fast ship to keep stocked for energy.. and sometimes i sell all of the silicon at max price..it doesnt hurt to leave them there they make money every so often..
