So trying to track down a crash bug. Someone on Reddit is having the same thing so it doesn't seem to be exclusive to me.

If I start as Lost Terracorp Pilot CS start, once I finally get to the HQ, the game immediately exits to the main menu once I click claim. Happens with the Disowned Boron CS start too.

I thought it was the good chunk of mods I had so I did a full clean install -- uninstall, deleted the folders, reinstall, then installed the Plugin Manager. Installed the SPK versions of just the Unofficial Patch and Old Plots (Patch first). The other three were already waiting for me after I did a reinstall of the Plugin Manager.

Fresh save, saved in getsu fune, used the script editor and all-seeing-eye to find the HQ, reloaded in getsu fune, got a ship and flew to where it was, same thing. Hit claim and the game puts me back to the main menu.

Old Plots 1.02
Unofficial Patch 1.3.12
Community Plugin Conf 1.61
Hotkey Manager 1.21
Ware Manager 1.20

Edit: Tried the Boron Challenging Sandbox start and same thing. Guess I'll try just the Unofficial Patch with no Old Plots SPK installed and go from there.

Edit2: Nividium Miner start, no Old Plots installed, same thing. Seems to be something with the Unofficial Patch, I think? I'll try Vanilla next and if it works for Vanilla I'll move this over to the Unofficial Patch thread.

Edit3: And moving it right back here.

I just did a full uninstall of the plugin manager, and installed the Unofficial Patch manually using the ZIP file instead... and it works. No crash when grabbing the HQ with the same save that worked in vanilla.

Full uninstall of the game. Full uninstall of the plugin manager. Deleted the addons2 folder. Installed the game. Installed the plugin manager. Works with just the built in script libraries installed.

Installed a freshly downloaded Unofficial Patch SPK via the Install Packages button (instead of drag and drop). Works.

Installed a freshly downloaded Old Plots SPK via the Install Packages button. Crashes.

Uninstalled Old Plots. Crashes.

Uninstalled Unofficial Patch and reinstalled. Works. So Old Plots modifies a file that the Unofficial Patch uses and breaks it, and the plugin manager doesn't catch that.

I'll try and see what I can find next.

Edit4:

So the 4 files that are the same name in each folder are

!station.event.hq.pck
plugin.customstart.config.pck
plugin.customstart.menu.pck
pluginmanager.txt

So I'm guessing it's !station.event.hq.pck being overwritten? Investigating.

Edit5:

Both installed and enabled

Manually re-overwrote !station.event.hq.pck with the Unofficial Patch version (1689 bytes, November 11th 8:12 PM) and it works. But I don't know what it might be not doing that Old Plots needs done.

Edit6: The only diff is the Old Plots version has a different version number and it doesn't give the Unfocused Jumpdrive. Not sure if things will blow up if the other plot tries to give you the Unfocused JD when you already have one, but, should be fun to find out. Hopefully it's an easy fix for the file.

1.03 is out and addresses this issue per Cycrow.

1.03 is just a small fix for claiming the HQ

Can I use this patch with saving from version 1.3.13? Will all missions be available or will I need to start a new one game?

I set "plots 1.0.3" to save in patch 1.3.13. I have completed the plots for the Xenon Hub and the Earth Spy, reputation with the Argons +10, Terrans +6 and all other races +8 and 10 except pirates, yaks, duke ( AOG -1 I don’t know how to raise). I don’t have a single plot with TC other than “Treasure Hunt”! There's not even a Goner plot!
I forgot to add that I play without dynamic relationships.

hi guys first nice mod everythink work like it should but there is one thing that dosen#t work... in the plot a new home after i jump with the second cpu ship to hack the other one it dosen't work..i can't hack the other cpu ship to finish the mission...it always say code breaking..but i don't know what to do...maybe a bug or what must i do? in orginal TC mission 'A New Home' you must hack the ship with finding a code but this windows dosen't appear.

for the hacking, you can start the various stages using the context menu on the target ship to open the hacking menu

hi thanks for the quick answer, I've already tried everything but the hack won't start (even if I take over the ship, destroy it or eject the pilot using the cheat menu, nothing happens) I've tried every menu.

Give TC AP Plots exploration points?

i think FL needs much more possibilities to get EXP. Goner Aran costs 43.000.000 XP. After starting plot its very difficult to get even to 1.000.000

Hi, I played Goner FL-Start.
Everything worked fine, completed every plot as listed until i finished AP Argon main Plot. Once i finished it, I got a message from Atreus wich started the AP HUB Plot.
At this point the Borons took control of my Xenon Hub, wich i got during FL.
I thought its fine, ill just do the Plot to regain it - but it seems like the Mission: "Deliver 20.000 Energy Cells to the Hub and connect to Zyarths Sector (dont know the english name)" Does not work.
The Hub is under my Control, and was already filled with 30k E-Cells. Taking them out and puting them back in doesnt work. Also, the sector-connection part did not recognize as completed.

I assume it would be best if the AP-Hub plot just would not start with my FL-Goner-Start.

The AP Hub plot should only be available to the AP starts, same as the AP HQ plot. Will have to take a look why thats not working

Hello, I can't remember if I ever posted anything on this forum, but I was recently persuaded to pick this game back up when I discovered I could replay my favorite, Terran Conflict, in Farnham's Legacy.
I have been doing some exploration, fighting and trading, and just recently started the Operation Final Fury plot. I am currently doing some of the "filler" missions to gain ranks there.
I am experiencing what I think is a bug with the escort convoy quest that prompts you to escort ships through the Unknown Sector north of Argon Sector M148.
Those quests have worked fine for a few iterations, but for my most recent one the ships are just sitting right at the gate where they spawned, and won't move at all. I keep clearing all the hostile ships in the vicinity, and the ships might move a few hundred meters while getting shot at, but then just stop.
I have reloaded several times and tried it again, and even saw the convoy's faction change a couple of times, to no avail.
It's gotten to the point where I am tempted to ask if there is a command somewhere to just complete the current mission, and skip the hassle.

Edit: I discovered something else while waiting for the ships to get a move on. They are Paranid ships. And they are firing at the Argon ships already in the sector. It seems I'm going to have some trouble depending on whether the escorts are hostile to the guys already there.

I am a little bit confused. FL plot won't be available, if i choose any Terran race start?

the FL main plot is only available in the FL starts. The ones in the "Farnham's Legacy" group on the start menu. All other starts will not have access to it.

this is because the FL plot is in a different part of the universe where you are cut off. This only really works at the start of the game.

the FL Terran plot is available to all starts though

Ok.

Yesterday, I quit my first X3 (TC) playthrough and bought AP + FL. Now I want start new game. What starts do you recommend for the most plot content? Ideally any human race.

if you want to do the FL plot, then you can only use the FL starts, then do the TC/AP plots after. These starts will miss the HQ and HUB plots.

if you prefer to do the TC HQ and HUB plots, then you will need to do one of the Terran Conflict starts, this will only miss the FL plot.

otherwise, you could start an FL game, then start a new TC once you complete the plot so you can do them all.

The Guilds mod will add additional plots as well, and will allow you to do both sides of the AP plots in the same game

I want keep story timeline. If I understand correctly, best option for me is Terran Defender/USC Commander/Aldran Adventurer (TC plots + AP Terran side) and then Argon Official (FL + AP Argon side).

textnotfound or whatever the error is called that messes up different starts' descriptions, happens when plugin manager screws up with fake patch ordering and puts unofficial patch as 00.dat and 00.cat. In other words, it happens always and you have to manually rename the old plots fake patch from 06.dat/cat to 07.dat/cat respectively, and rename unofficial patch from 00.dat/cat to 06.dat/cat.

I'm not sure if that doesn't break the unofficial patch. Because apparently jumpdrive installation kit that made universal traders cripple themselves and flush the economy down the drain was fixed in unofficial patch, but it was broken in my game. So you either get broken text, or you get broken game?
