We've been waiting on the Borons for so long, but all in all I can't not like the timing of this addition. The Split and Terrans rightly preceded the Borons and probably added more to the game. After twenty-five days in my current game, I will be ready to start a new one.

Me too!

I can't get the Argonopedia site to open today but in 2017 I made a note that it stated they wear water-filled, anti-grav environment suits "if they are outside their element".

Not sure why you'd want that when you have perfectly serviceable space squidtacles. And what kind of Boron would design a space suit with only two arms? Even as meagre humans, we're able to appreciate how nice it would be to have [insert number greater than two] arms/hands when operating equipment.

It also looks kind of weird, sadly not in the charming space squid kind of way. :boron:

And obviously a lot of work has been going into the 6.00 update, with more performance enhancements.

Love the levitating Boron suits to solve the ships full of water poblems.
Love the designs of the ships and stations.
Love that it has the X3 Kingdoms end music .. Really missed that (although its just in the Teaser video, I presume it will be in game, fingers crossed).

Already wishlisted on GOG, I woud pre-order it now if we had the option :)

Thank you for the early Christmas present. The Borons have always been my favourite race in the X universe.

YES!!!! They finally did it! I've been asking for this for years and years! Every time people would say it's impossible I'd pitch my 'stations with separate water areas and Boron encounter suits for the normal dry areas' idea and how it could work in the X4 engine. So to now see that they've actually done that and made it a reality makes me so happy, as this is pretty much what I pictured in my mind years ago. And I loved the extra touch of redoing the good old Kingdom End music too. Well done Egosoft!

You know, I never fully appreciated the KE background music. Probably cause back in X3 KE was an asteroid hellhole in a time when we still had collision damage.
But I digress, hearing it for the first time in years, it's just like hearing the Imperial March, like it gives the feeling of I KNOW this.

For stations, definitely interesting, though I wonder if the texture is a little too rough, like looking at the ships and stations reminds me of barnacles instead of say, an Orca or Shark. But hey, another new custom landing pad. The triangular seeming locking parts for stations is interesting too for variety.

S/M ships: The few pics I've seen look good, though I want to see them in 3D. The view when landed looks terrible imo, but then again I've never been a fan of such thin protrusions. Then again, the view from above in flight looks good, I can see myself flying some of these compared to the ToA ones. Though comparing it seems like it's just a different class.
Ray: For starters note that I'm referring to the gif on the Steam page. Eh, like I said, I dislike those protrusions. Also not a fan of how the left side has all those barnacle like things, hope that's the rear at least, just going off that gif while the right doesn't exactly look like my cup of tea either it at least looks pointier which is how I like my ships to look. Love the "internal" landing dock though, AI would probably suck at landing there but hey, it's a destroyer, not a carrier.
Shark: Also the Steam gif. Looks great, will need to see it 3D before I fully decide but I think this would be my favorite carrier yet. Bonus points if it's not as gigantic as a Raptor.
Others: These are from the teaser trailer. What is that ship at 1m25s? The one where you can see the cockpit and also looks kinda like a Whale Shark? Could be a new favorite.
Also those capital ships near the end, the top one is okay I guess, but I hope the bottom one isn't the Shark... Might grow on me, but I don't like it's sharp chin.

Borons: I bet Egosoft have given up figuring out how aquatic creatures would work. But if those are actually robotic pods like mentioned above instead of floating space suits, then I think that's a good second choice. I hope they also look like that in space, because that would make sense.

Other thoughts: Hope we don't get another Astrid (needing to clear plot, and sucks to actually fly anyway) or Erlking (stupid treasure hunt). Especially the latter, god, one of the reasons I would prefer to not start another new game, that shit is annoying and should be skippable via custom game starts. Though tbh that applies to both.
Oh, and I guess my hope for an L carrier or even something like an enhanced Oddy which can also carry M ships is dead. Like I was kinda hoping for an L Boron ship with 2M4S or something.

I definately liked the song used in the trailer. Friend of mine who is long term X player recognized the original and he was also full of joy when heard the evolution of the song.

DLC itself looks very interesting and beautiful. Will be nice to meet Boron race first time as I don't have personal experience (seen when friend played) from previous X series games.

Noticed it as well, the gate doesn't look like a classic X gate. Curious what's up with that.

Trailer looks wonderful, Boron stations & ships look great & the glimpse into the new sectors are neat too. Kingdom End is recognizable, but very curious about that glowing gas giant / brown dwarf sector. The floating mechsuits for the Boron are neat as well.
Seems the Boron even get their own fabrication/shipyard bays, which really is a great thing (think you can glimpse inside a S/M fabrication/repairbay halfway through the trailer)
What would be really great is if 6.0 gives each race their own unique bays. Otherwise, it would look odd if all were generic except the Boron.
