New information in a nutshell:
- New online update goes into Beta after v4.0
- You can join teams with your friends and do missions "together" by everyone doing a part of the mission in his/her universe
- And multiple teams can join a guild for some reason(?)
- And the whole thing is called: "Multiverse Team Seasons"

Now let’s hope that they don’t hide rewards that are only available through this pseudo multiplayer mode...Tamina wrote: ↑Fri, 22. Jan 21, 18:14 New information in a nutshell:

Yeah, this is one area I'll never incorporate in my game, but I can't imagine Egosoft would move much further away from the premise of 'X is a single player game.'rene6740 wrote: ↑Sun, 24. Although I will grumble if players are enticed to indulge with significant features which can't be found in the non-venture game.
I don't know if there's been a recent official statement on the direction the online element of the game is likely to take.
(Note: making this comment here because these are elements which look to be coming with the full release of 4.0 and COH)

In all honesty...their implementations of "multiplayer" are singleplayer in everything but the need to have an internet connection. Plus if you don't like this faux online stuff there are still mods to give this to you in an offline/even more singleplayer friendly way....so in the end you still win.
Because either A: You care for this mode...great, you get more content!
Or B: You don't care for it at all...great, you get more content in the form of a mod or simply ignore it!
Personally I see it as a nice passive extra income my subordinates get to make for me while I am asleep.
So tl;dr - Even if you dislike the fake online component ...you still get access to it, anyway via mods so in the end everyone wins...and there are certainly people who like it so I think that this is a great compromise unlike other games who completely lock this content and FORCE you to partake in it.

If Egosoft want to incorporate features they can point to and say it's "multiplay" or has "online interaction" that's fine- After they deliver the promised fixes and DLC.Shehriazad wrote: ↑Mon, 25. COH is already delayed into this 1st quarter, so to be venturing into online play could divert time and resources from simply finishing the current product.
If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

I think the further development of the Venture System is for after 4.0 and CoH is released. (towards 5.0 maybe)
Although I could/can use the venture system currently I just haven't been motivated to,and I've never tried.
The idea that faux daily login for rewards (venture ship returning) just seems off. {I don't know if its in-game hours or real world hours]
But I'm making an assumption that psudo- online play means psudo online implementation so I thinking real world hours.
Now if Boso Ta was performing experiments by firing high energy particles at anomolys for prolonged periods and the result these experiments was that crafting components become wonderous crafting components .
Through Research that was longer than 10 minutes
Then I might be more accepting of the venture mechanic.

I like Ventures, while is a single player game, always liked the feel of other player ships are on the map or my ships are on someone else's game, even with this restricted way. Adds a nice flavour

I like ventures tbh. Not for the mod items or the paints but just for the fun. You can send a ship for the 64 hour venture and just roll the die.Ormac wrote: ↑Tue, 26. Jan 21, 02:18 I think the further development of the Venture System is for after 4.0 and CoH is released. (towards 5.0 maybe)

How many stations you will built? How big empire? Think someone else will see your ship with your name flying in their game.
I would love to actively that ship do some trade orders on their game as part of the mission. Just to add flavour. Think about how immerse it would be if you see many trade ships of various players just flying around doing trade? Is not multiplayer, it doesn't break your game but adds immersion.

I don't want to be pushy, but it would be nice to have next ship reveal.

I don't want to be blamed for spoiling, but maybe we might have some announcement next week?

Re: X4: Cradle of Humanity *UPDATE* Fresh from the shipyard: unveiling a new battleship

We are pleased to announce that both the X4: Cradle of Humanity expansion and the extensive 4.00 update for X4: Foundations will be released on March 16, 2021.
A few months have passed since the announcement of X4: Cradle of Humanity at gamescom 2020, and the start of the beta phase for the 4.00 update of X4: Foundations. Thanks to the great efforts of the team, who have been working from home for almost a year, we can now usher in the next chapter of our space simulation X4: Foundations.
This major 4.00 update, which will be available to all owners of the game upon release, enhances X4: Foundations in numerous ways, including completely new gameplay features and extensive technical improvements. Insights into some of these exciting new features, such as volumetric fog, the new terraforming end-game activity, and new ways to manage hostilities, have already been given. In the weeks leading up to the 4.00 release, we will reveal further new aspects, in detail, through news articles, videos and livestreams. Rest assured that the 4.00 update will be as attractive to new players as it will be to X4 experts.
If you want to have a closer look at the changes already being tested, you can find the change log for the current 4.00 beta version on our forum.
X4: Cradle of Humanity - The next chapter of X4
X4: Cradle of Humanity is the second expansion for X4: Foundations and will bring the X series back to Earth. It significantly increases the size of the game universe with new sectors, and welcomes two Terran factions along with their economy, ships, weapons and stations. New game-starts bring players closer to the identity and political stance of the Terran factions, and offer alternative perspectives on events in the history of X4: Foundations.
Make sure you add X4: Cradle of Humanity to your wishlist today, and get ready to explore on March 16, 2021!
