Hi there!

I've just updated the page a little bit, you'll find now some first downloads. Not the mod itself, but you can get a first image of the starmap, the ranks und also you'll find a script.

I really hope we can present you in the following two weeks some first ships and weapons :)

Greetings,

Dark

Just one question-what is the sector at K9 (11,9)?

On the topic of ship classes, would it be possible to simply put large models on a class? i.e make the defiant a very large M3 and intrepid a very large M6. The defiant should fly like a fighter anyway and one delta flyer(M5) should fit in an intrepid. This makes sence to me.

Will you be able to implement warp drive in any way? I liked the idea of getting rid of the gates(they dont really fit in ST) but that would kind of mess up intergalactic trade. Instead could you not just make them invisible and they could act as sub-space beacons for inter-system trade.

I am glad to see more than one person working on this mod, for one its a monster project and two, i wouldnt like to see it go down the same road as a HW2 ST mod i had hopes for. Good Luck!

You guys must be the most stupid thieves I've ever seen.

Those model are from either www.scifi-meshes.com or www.startrekaustralia.com.

I know the meshes pretty well, and they are not your work. Besides that, the meshes all have WAY to many polygons for X2. Everybody who can model knows this.

Remove the links to the screens, it will avoid you ALOT of trouble.

You have been warned.

Please refrain from throwing accusations around. If you have a concern, please PM a moderator or site admin.

However, as the issue has been raised, if these models are from other sites, I'm sure that the users have permission for them, which for good order, I would encourage them to confirm that they have permission to reassure other forum members.

I'am not throwing accusations around. This is theft of intelectual property.

Here are almost all meshes that they claim to have modeled:

http://www.scifi-meshes.com/index.php?page=models . The rest is on www.startrekaustralia.com .

Its a fact that they have stolen the models, and they most likely will be sued if they don't stop distributing copyrighted material as their own.

Quoting their site:
scifimeshes.com wrote:Just a reminder if you download ANY meshes from this site you agree to credit the ORIGINAL creator of the model. In cases of conversions, it's nice to include them too.
So, to the original posters of the models, if they are used from this or other sites, please respect their wishes and terms of their use (give them credit basically).

There is therefore no issue of 'theft' or 'sueing', but credit should be given where due.

Thank you.

Credits are worthless if there is no permission.

Terms of usage for the Kerchan (original creator: Hobbes);

Images using this mesh must have a credit to 'Rick "Hobbes" Snider' within them, or at any point during an animation. This mesh may not be modified, with the sole exception of damage modifications. 'Kitbashes' and conversions are not permitted, unless accepted by request via email or direct contact.

Distribution of this mesh at present has been approved exclusively for: www.scifi-meshes.com, and www.m-cgi.com, pending acceptance of this readme as a useage agreement, and the separate agreements of each of the two organizations.

That said, only three sites have this mesh (scifi-meshes.com, startrekaustralia.com and m-cgi.com). The same deal with the rest of the models. All of them require a permission to modify them, and of course, credits.

Posting other peoples work as your own and doing so without giving credits or having permission IS theft of intelectual property, which can implicate in being sued.

Enough. You've made your point.
Just leave it now. It will be dealt with.

Excellent idea, the models are masterpieces and the idea is even better. Any idea when the whole project will be finished and how big the mod will be
