Bored Now
Playing the beta and the Xenon are gone. I only find building as many complexes and fleets as I want entertaining for so long. I have explored everything I think and done most things. Not played much this week. It's become aimless with no incentive to keep playing. I guess I could start a war with HOP. Probably get my ass kicked and I do not really want to kill my customers. Tricking out your ship at the workbench is kind of interesting for a bit, but now there a no K or I to test them on. I'd like a ship designer app in the game, kind of like how that Kerbal game lets them build and test rockets. Something to do with all the credits. 1000 hours of fun ain't bad entertainment value for my money I guess.

I just finished destroying the Xenon that border the HOP, in Faulty Logic/Atiya's Misfortune, then began a war against the Godrealm. I just wiped out Pious Mists II, it was fun. I was using the VRO mod, so the battle was a lot more epic than the vanilla experience. There are enemies to be had, if you choose to make some enemies.AquilaRossa wrote: ↑Sun, 6. Re: Bored Now
Having +30 relations with factions and turning on them makes no sense to me. If I am going to war there has to be a plausible reason and something causing a decline in relations. Otherwise it is just war for the sake of blowing sh!t up. Senseless in a game that has the word 'think' as part of its motto. If I just want to frag everything I'll play Doom. There are enemies to be had, if you choose to make some enemies.
I think faction relationship should be affected by choosing to be BFF with the enemies of a faction. Being tight with the Godrealm should annoy the HOP for example and make it difficult to maintain peace with them.

Yeah... but there is somehow no Point in taking a Faction over. I also destroyed the Xenon by HOP. Becuase they were a danger for my buisness .But why fight with somebody who brings you money?
But also I am currently building my first Shipyard. And I dont know what to do after that. I really hope that the 3.0 Update will bring more interesting features for owning a system. But currently I think I will be finished with the game in some days.

Re: Bored Now
I think the longevity of my X gaming has always been helped because I don't really put too much emphasis on the 'Fight' side of it. - My last few gaming sessions have consisted of flying back and forth from Paranid stations to find Split women to crew a Zeus. - Also, I've only played around 300 hours since buying the game on release day, and updates and additional content are always going to arrive before I run out of things I want to try.
Things I've not done, and have no idea how to do: - (1) Create a ship mod other than basic. (2) Board another ship. (3) Fight without 'flight assist' enabled.
The list will always grow beyond where I'm up to in the game, so I'll never fear growing bored.
But, OP, a 1,000 hours out of one game is indeed superb value for money!

Re: Bored Now
The world is full of spin and BS, so I do not mind you are skeptical. We have to be these days. 1079 hours to be exact according to Steam. That's nothing compared to my Fallout 4. 2846 hours played. Same with Skyrim before that. I tend to find one game I like and stick with it for ages. Not sure what the next one will be. I am hoping it will be Starfield, but Bethesda seem to have got a bit off the rails lately. Out of touch with gamers due to spending too much time in their corporate world ivory tower.

I wish I could have so much fun with one game. Think Skyrim has most hours with 300h^^ Even X3 has only 250h.

Highest on Steam are Skyrim with 238, and Shadows of Mordor with 41.
On GOG it's X Foundations with 314, and Eador Imperium with 431. (Imperium is similar to Heroes of M&M, but much better and much buggier. LOL)
@spider 8,000 hours across 2 games... That's 200 x 40 hour weeks!

It's a great form of escapism, and I'm jealous of the hours you've put in, but not of the constant pain you're suffering.
Most of my escapism comes in book form. - I often read while playing games like X4.

I share your opinion, I think that any increase in relations with one faction should be met with a small decrease in relations with factions which are enemies to the first. So if you just trade and get increased relations with one faction, eventually you will be considered an enemy by the other hostile factions, even if you do nothing overtly hostile towards them. The only way around this would be to trade and do missions with the different factions equally, but that would tend to lock you out of the highest level relationship with either.AquilaRossa wrote: ↑Sun, 6. Totally agree with this. It would give you proper justification for attacking one of the humanoid factions, rather than just going for +30 all round.AquilaRossa wrote: ↑Sun, 6. The thing is, there is literally 0 (zero) benefit in starting a war with a faction.Falcrack wrote: ↑Sun, 6. I've never bought into this reasoning. This isn't how it works in most RL situations. There are some examples in history where one group selfishly decided to hate whoever was just trading goods across borders, but most of the time they're just accepted as neutral friends since hating them for trading goods with your enemy generally hurts you just as much as it does your enemy.Falcrack wrote: ↑Sun, 6. I could agree with some system that prevents you from reaching higher trusted relationships with either faction.

Re: Bored Now
1666 Hours, and have hardly looked at the game for the past three months. Just got a new x52 controller so am calibrating it in x4.
Waiting for 3 to come out, but don't hold too much hope for a larger map, it all seems way too small, to be a space game.
The flying around is cool, building stations is cool, but I have sort of done all that.
This game needs a lot more map, like 10 times more map for it to gain my interest.
I shall pray to the GODS, for more map.
Not just one or two new sectors, we need hundreds.

Running simulation for more maps will take even more CPU resources...I guess there is a good reason why we have limited sector count in x4.Nort The Fragrent wrote: ↑Tue, 8. They have stated that 3.0 will almost double the sector count.

No, not the patch. The DLC will.
