Re: What are you currently up to in game?
playing other games till 3.0 - ive pretty much done everything i wanted to do.
- explored every sector (no fog of war)
- got many pilots to 5 stars for managers/traders/etc
- got all the data vaults
- full adv satellite coverage (every station and gate in every non xenon sector)
- conquered a sector and claimed it, named it
- built a massive fleet and many stations
- got my faction to 30 with all the main ones
- created a mega station (city in space) that has every available mod
- erased and entire faction (HOP)
- spawned in a ridiculous fleet of xenon and watched as they cleansed the galaxy
- reloaded and destroyed that xenon fleet with my own fleet
- have 50 m miners and 50 m traders that literally print money
- got to 10 billion credits (went way beyond that but it was a goal)
- a few more that ive forgotten lol

Just waiting for 2.0. 10 billion cash, every ware in the universe supplied and kept fully stocked by a series of giant complexes in every sector with a trading post/equipment dock. Nothing else to do currently. Still don’t have seta

Re: What are you currently up to in game?
Finalising some of my current build projects ready for 2.0.
I have one particular massive station that is earmarked as my first ship production/refit/maintenance facility and a few plots near by that can be upgraded to support it or be used for other things.
I also have a few other fledgling build projects that are pending resources/finances being available to complete them.

Re: What are you currently up to in game?
At this point I'm finishing off construction of an additional refinery complex and foodstuffs complex in Pious Mists XI as part of my conquest of the cluster, this will help boost the industrial power of my empire. I got a huge load of construction materials from clearing out PAR stations that makes this easier.
Maybe I'll start construction of an equipment dock in Pious Mists II, my shipyard in Nopileos' Fortune already fulfills this purpose but I want to do something with Pious Mists II. I already built a large military base there but the sector needs something extra.
After that I will go for Pious Mists IV, clear it out and start construction of an additional intermediates complex and production complex that will effectively double the production capacity of my shipyard. I will see what to do about that Kha'ak installation, if it's still indestructible, I will just turn it into a training ground for leveling pilots.
Then my fleets will head for Sacred Relic...
EDIT: Playing 2.0 Beta BTW.

Trying to scrounge together the money to finish a station build, and trying to resist the temptation to claim the slightly-game-breaking amount of abandoned ships about.
I'm not going to succeed in the second one, but at least I'll have a squadron of Ospreys to play with.

I only have around 2.5 bil (mainly because I haven't played for over a month) a couple of good complexes (nothing spectacular, around 15-20 factories each) .
4 Carriers (capped) packed with a full compliment of M + S ships and about 4 Destroyers (capped) assigned to each one of the carriers (16 in total), all of them modified to a degree.
2 nemesis (one Vanguard, one Sentinel) heavily modified for both of them with purple mods plus a various amount of autominers and autotraders.
Haven't bother with lock boxes and vaults I don't feel i need any of the stuff in them and got all my modding stuff from the xenon by visiting their very rewarding sectors.
I am simply waiting it out for the upcoming 2.0 (even though I don't care at all for the shipyards) and may be wait a bit longer for some Universe expansion (i do feel as if this a very small universe, regardless of what devs say about sector size and such, after all if its just empty space size unfortunately doesn't mater).
Reverted to play X3AP a bit since there is more to do there.

I feel you on the X3AP and also agree with the whole hype about sector size is just bs imo, big, empty, dull with nothing to do in all that big, empty, dull spacedarrund wrote: ↑Fri, 22. I think I shall probably revert to a previous save before going to war with the paranid as my idiots cannot defend a sector and fly off. I shall probably do the same, farm money/rep start massive station build for shipyard/wharfMegaJohnny wrote: ↑Fri, 22. You are at war with paranid? If so how the heck are you keeping close to 100 ships in a sector without them flying off pursuing freighters in a random sector or picking a random paranid station in a random sector to go and kamakazi it, while the paranid send s-l ships to reclaim a sector ?EmperorDragon wrote: ↑Fri, 22. This is what I should be doing rather than babysitting the fail AI on defence / patrol, as I said above. Probably will reload a save.

This seems to be the common response saving money for 2.0
Yeah I have not really bothered with vaults, the "rewards" is not rewarding enough to jump out and EVA for 5 mins, I have the sats setup too and sector, a decent fleet, was about to erase the PAR but ran into "technical issues" . From your list it does feel like there is not much else to do in your game I think, unless you want to try unlock numerous blackmarketeers a few km away from some booze/weed/dust complexEvanRath wrote: ↑Fri, 22. Re: What are you currently up to in game?
Stopped playing, I have 20 plus stations pumping cash, Got 2 Billon saved. Swopped most of my traders for Piranid Zeus, who don’t get bothered by pirates! Have mapped all there is, and nothing much to do.
Have documented the trading economy, the ships, so have a wealth of data.
The universe is so small its laughable and to be honest disappointing, hope we get some more (a lot more) sectors to explore in any upcoming updates.
For now I am playing Xbox Forza Horizon 4 until an update arrives.
And praying the developers read this, and pump out a much larger MAP. Like 10 times larger at least.
Still on first start from day one, will wait and see if a restart is worth the effort, but for now Not playing.

Re: What are you currently up to in game?
By not using "protect position" and "patrol" orders and behaviours, it's plainly pointless to use those behaviours due to the issues you mentioned. I just set my fleets' default behaviour to "fly to position" or "hold position" and put them right in front of the gates or in the direct path of traffic, they tend to stay put that way and still attack ships in range (turrets set to attack all enemies). L and XL ships usually don't get through. S and M ships do slip through and I have to do sector sweeps periodically, or my defense stations sort them out if they attack. "Hold/fly to position" does have a tendency to teleport your fleets to the other side of the sector if you go OOS and come back.lordmuck wrote: ↑Fri, 22. Feb 19, 14:51 You are at war with paranid? It's a lot more micromanagement and you have to keep an eye on things but, it's the only way. "Protect position" simply means "attack ALL enemies with unlimited range". I also keep S and M ships docked and only undock them when necessary.
Like the partially-built station/build plot issues, it doesn't seem like Egosoft is placing any priority on addressing these rather annoying problems so, we will have to deal with it in our own ways for now.

I have tried the manual route too, I cannot keep up with that + me doing other things in game missions/rep/station stuff/"experiments" Hold position / fly to the ships end up sitting there getting shot in the ass and 0 reaction :/ its a lose lose situation for me :/EmperorDragon wrote: ↑Fri, 22. Rebuilding Faulty Logic and Atiya's Misfortune. A number of stations similar to the NPC setup. The activity in HOP sectors has nearly trebled since I took the 4 Xenon sectors.
I am also laying my own satellite network, as this keeps me moving around the universe and occasionally finding new things.
Today found a wreck in Nopileos' Fortune. Investigated and had to open several interior doors before getting a reward.

Re: What are you currently up to in game?
Almost done with upgrading my "mining fleet " from M vessels to L vessels.
Trying to figure out how to deal with the logistics issue that i have created myself, lol... started building factories in Argon Prime but then came the phq and i changed my mind, lol. Still not sure myself about L transports... quite expensive and i*m always broke anyway
or if you want to call it "poor".
Still waiting for two claytronics factory to finish first fase of building ( each one has currently planned 10 productions modules, close loop), may increase to 15 for each.
Waiting for another dedicated factory for hull plating to get finished ( 40 production modules), close loop. May increase once finished to 50 ...
Current diversifications plans in my "own universe"or "corner" is on hold since im not able to get fast enough hull plates or clay in the amount i think i need for ... well for yesterday
Map is pretty much mapped, included stations scans... may have missed a few here and there, tough.
And shoot down from time to time some Xenon when im in the mood or nearby
But what buggs me im out of pizza with pineapples.....
Fame

I would not use L freighters tbh and use M and also S types too for drug running from my complex as the s's are "faster "

Nothing. My ships`s sit in storage waiting for a functional galaxy.
1. Please do more on NPC civilian/uniform variety, and bio customisations, Devs.
2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).
Yes, for immersion. Thankyou ahead of time. (Edit: This is actually happening!!!)

I wanted to say it's kinda disappointing, but tbh i don't mind i don't have to grind for ages to turn my game from a war on some guys to building them 3 additional SYs and the supporting plexes
